The Tribulation Period received the name from the Olivet Discourse
where Jesus Christ speaks
about "great distress" that is unequaled
anytime in all of history. The triggering point is "the
abomination that causes desolation" which is the
Abomination of
Desolation event. Before the Tribulation Period begins there
is 3.5 years of a False Peace where Jesus Christ returns before the
False Peace begins in the first of the
two Second Comings at the
Rapture Event that no one
knows the day or hour. The second of the
two Second Comings is
that the end of the Tribulation Period which is
first Armageddon Event.

The Tribulation Period, as read in the Book of Revelation, contains many identities and codes, along with encryptions, that have references to other places in the Bible. The Book of Revelation is a summary of the end-times of the Earth which can be described analogous to an ending to a exciting, wonderful and glorifying book that is for God's Glory. God the Hero wins, and all of us from the Old and New Testament periods that have Salvation win with God, and evil loses!
The Tribulation Period is most likely a very well-known identified period of time in the future, by many people who that are not even Christians, where general knowledge is the time period is dealing with:
The Tribulation Period is sometimes confused as a period of seven years, where the scripture accurately defines the period as the second half of a seven-year period described in the Book of Daniel's 70th week prophecy.
There are specific prophecies concerning the first half and the second half, of the seven-year period, where the second half is the Tribulation Period. The second half is also known as Jacob's trouble according to Jeremiah 30:7. Jacob is the patriarch of the nation of Israel with twelve tribes. In Genesis 32:28, Jacob's name is changed by God to Israel.
When the scriptures use Jacob instead of Israel this means it is time when the person or the nation is not doing as God would have wanted. In the Tribulation Period, the nation of Israel is destined to recognized their Savior Jesus Christ which is one of the primary purposes of the Tribulation Period, and without the nation of Israel recognizing Jesus Christ, would then stop Jesus Christ from returning as part of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ to end the Tribulation Period.

Contrary to popular non-scriptural based Christian beliefs, often seen in movies, the Antichrist under Lucifer never has control of the entire planet Earth. The Antichrist control is only over the areas of the ancient Roman Empire which had other areas besides Europe. There will be areas on the Earth that have allegiance to the Antichrist, but they are not under the full governing power that the Antichrist will exercise. As an example of one part of the world, that is not under the control of the Antichrist, is the area of the Kings of the East that are controlled by Fallen Angels, which were released from a prison set by God that is identified as near the river Euphrates. The Kings of the East have a mission and will have an army that will march to war against the Antichrist, but later will join with the Antichrist's army to oppose Jesus Christ at the first of two scriptural Armageddon events.
The effects of the judgments of God, discussed below during the Tribulation Period, do affect the entire planet Earth and are horrible against all people who have rejected Jesus Christ, where one of the final acts of God is the "Bowl of Wrath into the Air", which the Fallen Angels will receive the Wrath of God.
Most importantly, despite all of the suffering and Godly Judgments against the entire Earth, there will be a countless number of people, along with children under the Age of Accountability, receiving Salvation. As stated and explained further in the "The Two Thirds Good News" section of this topic: In previous times in history, people could go through their entire lives with the possibility of ignoring God. In the Tribulation Period, unlike any other time in history, there is not going to be any neutral place to live without making a choice to accept or reject Jesus Christ, which will result in great numbers of people receiving Salvation.
The people who reject Jesus Christ are choosing:
Accepting the Antichrist as god will result in receiving the Mark of the Beast, and the person is immediately given over to the Great Lie.
The primary four purposes of the Tribulation Period are:

As already mentioned, the Antichrist will rule in the areas of the ancient Roman Empire, but will have an influence in many areas of the Earth, while never having control of the whole Earth. Some Biblical Scholars have pointed out there is the goal by Lucifer and the Fallen Angels to actually cause Nations to war amongst each other to cause human beings to suffer and die rather than uniting for reasons discussed further in this topic.
There also appears to be derision between Lucifer's Fallen Angels where four Fallen Angels, currently prisoners near the river Euphrates, will be part of the reason the Armageddon event occurs as discussed in the Kings of the East topic. The ending of the Tribulation Period, will occur with Jesus Christ's Second Coming. This will start the Millennial Kingdom of Jesus Christ. The Millennial Kingdom is an amazing and beautiful time where Jesus Christ will sit on the Throne of David in Jerusalem.
The Tribulation Period is a period of time with great calamities and death which God has four main purposes pointed out above. If the Tribulation Period lasted any longer than the 3.5 years, then there would be no one alive. This reflects the devastation that comes on the world, which is why God gives everyone the warnings and details in advance.

The most important two points to know as a Christian are:
Back in the mid-1980s, there was a wonderful and popular book that came out from Hilton Sutton entitled "Revelation : God's Grand Finale", where this author uses the title at the start of this topic. This book, by Hilton Sutton, was one of many books that began to open up the minds of people on the Tribulation Period purpose and reasons. Hilton Sutton made the wonderful point in this book, that this is "the last chapter of a great book, where the hero wins and we win with Him".
If you are a Christian by name only with no relationship, then make sure you know of your identity with Jesus Christ. Simply ask Jesus Christ to be your Savior in a heartfelt genuine manner. In the United States, there is an old expression that is not heard too often anymore which is "Just because you are an American doesn't make you a Patriot.", which is meant derogatorily against those who have no country loyalty, and unfortunately applies to many people who attend Church for various reasons that do not include the reason of loving God because of what Jesus Christ did on the Cross.
None of us are capable of living perfect lives that illuminate the Holy Spirit's purpose in our lives, but our relationship with Jesus Christ will make our lives richer, rewarding, fruitful, worth living and we will know He is in our life. It is also very important to have the knowledge that our lives are meant for a purpose that glorifies God where we earn eternal Rewards in Heaven.
As stated at the start of this topic on the Tribulation Period, there are two halves to the seven-year period described in the Book of Daniel, which is known as the 70th week in Daniel. The second half is also known as Jacob's trouble according to Jeremiah 30:7

As detailed in the 70th week in Daniel topic, the week is a period seven years, where the period is divided into two halves of 3.5 years, which is 1260 days and 1260 days. God in all of the prophecies in the Bible uses 30 day months of 360 day years.

Note that this First Half occurs after a period of time that the Earth
experienced a short war that is called the
first Gog and Magog Event which was
preceded by the Rapture. Many
Biblical Scholars, which this author agrees, state that the
Antichrist comes into
power because of the aftermath of the Gog and Magog event where many nations are
frightened and the Antichrist will give them a False Peace by unifying many
nations.

| An excerpt from the Mark of the Beast topic: From Revelation 13:7-10, the uniqueness of the time period of the Antichrist is because it is the only time in the history of God's protection for Christians does not stop Satanic Forces from killing and martyring all the Christians they can find. Many Biblical Commentaries point out that this is partially because people should have recognized the events happening on the Earth that was leading up to the 70th Week of Daniel and therefore accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior so that this horrible period of the Tribulation Period could have been avoided. The "All inhabitants of the earth", in Revelation 13:8 is rendered differently in several Bible Versions, where several Biblical Commentaries note that the meaning intent is the people on Earth who consider their home as the Earth. All Christians are sojourners, who consider their home is in Heaven as referenced in over 35 scriptural passages. Those people, who have the Mark of the Beast and kill others, regardless if they are Christians, will be killed in the same manner according to Revelation 13:10. This shows that God will still be controlling limits to events and His Plans which will have judgment on murders to be killed in the same way they murdered others. |

(f) According to some Biblical Scholars, the Nephilim are revealed as part of Daniel vision and prophecy in Daniel 2:41-43. It is this prophecy, which some Biblical Scholars including this author believe, will most likely be a revealing of fake Extraterrestrial Beings (E.T.s), which are really the Nephilim. They will masquerade as visitors from other places in the universe with a message that there is no god or there is a god not known by people on Earth. This masquerade will be part of the Great Lie to lead the Earth's Rulers contemplating a war against a false god, not knowing it is the True God as described in the dual meaning of Psalm 2.
For the Christian, we are not on Earth during this time. Consider a few points of information:
In the scripture reference, of Daniel 9:27 as discussed in the 70th Week of Daniel topic shown below, the reference of the "seven" is one period of seven years. Notice in verse 27, that the "he" is a reference to the future son of perdition who will proclaim himself as god in an Abomination of Desolation event. This is the start of the Tribulation Period which is a period of 3.5 years and is the second half of the seven year period of Daniel 9:27.
This event, written in the scriptures, is how Biblical Scholars have stated that the Temple in Jerusalem will be rebuilt, were currently there is no Temple. There must be a Temple in Jerusalem for the Antichrist to commit the Abomination of Desolation event

The people alive on the Earth, at that time who have Salvation before the 70th Week of Daniel begins will be Raptured. The Tribulation Purpose has many purposes, where the primary purpose is for Israel to recognize their Messiah.
There is a key scriptural passage for all Jewish people living in Israel to know when the Tribulation Period starts, which is the second half of the 70th Week of Daniel. In Matthew 24:15-22, Jesus Christ is speaking about an event that is command for those to obey and flee to the mountains.

Before the 70th Week of Daniel (Before the 7 Year Period)
Before the seven year period of Daniel's 70th Week begins:

First 3.5 years
The first three years and six months of the 70th Week of Daniel Period is a period of solidifying the power of the Antichrist. After the failed First Gog and Magog event the World is looking for a peace so that never again the World's countries will attack other countries and use nuclear types of missiles and bombs. This is one of the catalysts to the Antichrist coming into power by gaining power through promising peace in the World, which is the False Peace described in the scriptures.
The Antichrist will begin with the setup of a false peace and an attempt to consolidated his power in as many nations as possible, which will eventually only contain nations in the geographical areas of the ancient Roman Empire. Note that the Roman Empire was not just countries in Europe as it also included country areas of the Middle East and Northern Africa.

Note that the battle of Armageddon will end up being an attempt by Lucifer to have the Earth's armies fight against God, as noted in the Psalm 2 corroboration. The armies initially arrive at Armageddon to fight one another, but change their goal in cooperating with another to fight the True God. In order for the Earth's armies to attempt this fight then they have to be deceived that they are fighting against something else other than God. A interesting point is Josephus recorded the Roman Catapults threw stones on the city of Jerusalem in the 70 AD siege that were the weight of a talent. A talent's weight is 33 kg or 72 lbs. A judgment of meteorites will occur during the Gog and Magog event and as part of the 6th Seal Judgment. Stoning to death is the penalty for many of the Old Testament sins which includes blasphemy of God.

Biblical Scholars point to Zechariah 13:8 as prophetic about the Tribulation Period where 2/3 of Israel will be wiped out in the last and worst Jewish Holocaust at the hands of the Antichrist. The 1/3 of Israel that are left alive will go into the Millennial Kingdom period as saved believers in Jesus Christ that will repopulate the Earth along with people from every other place on Earth that survived the Tribulation Period.

According to a few different Biblical Scholars, the world will also lose 2/3 of the population. This figure does not mean that 2/3 of the world will be condemned and face the Lake of Fire after their death. This 2/3 estimate includes:
Daniel's 70th week prophecy has many purposes and one is for the Glory of God which means God will still be harvesting many people unto Salvation in the Tribulation Period.
Of the population that is left alive at the end of the Tribulation Period, there are two groups:
The judgment at the end of the Tribulation Period is called the Sheep and Goat Judgment where those who have righteousness by Faith in Jesus Christ will also go into the Millennial Kingdom period. Those who did not have Jesus Christ as their Savior will go Lower Sheol to await the Great White Thrown of Judgment.

When we are reading the Book of Revelation judgments, there is a value of "1/3 ~ one third" used repeatedly as indication of how many deaths and destruction are occurring in the Seven Seals Judgments. Other than Revelation 6:4, which deals with "1/4 ~ 25%", all the remaining are "1/3 - one third ~ 33%".
There are two question that can be asked:
To reemphasize the point of patterns, the book of Revelation is replete with patterns and groups of sevens that cannot be counted as noted by many Biblical Scholars who have tried counting such as Ivan Panin. There is an inexhaustible list of patterns of sevens in the Book of Revelation.
In this author's opinion, that I have not read in any Biblical Commentary, the "1/3 - one third ~ 33%" pattern is also a mark from the Holy Spirit for the reader to know that was how many Lucifer deceived of the Angels in Heaven to rebel against God because of a deception done by Lucifer. The 1/3 has a meaning of judgment with the losses shown in the table list below, which will also be used as evidence of the far-reaching ramifications from Lucifer and the Fallen Angel's rebellion when they are judged at the Great White Thrown of Judgment.

There are many people entering the Tribulation Period, other than those under the Age of Accountability, that have refused to recognize and ask Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Biblical Scholars have pointed out the many scriptures, such as Matthew 24:14, which state the Tribulation Period will not occur until many predecessor conditions have occurred that include the entire world hearing of Jesus Christ. This gives Glory to God for not having the Tribulation Period start until everyone knows of Jesus Christ.

The choice to not listen and not ask Jesus Christ as a person's Savior is the same thing as rejecting Jesus Christ. Therefore, adults going into the Tribulation Period are all condemned, but to God's Glory there is still an opportunity to receive Salvation.
Before Genesis 1:2 occurred and the Garden of Eden did not exist, there was war in Heaven which Lucifer started a rebellion. During the rebellion, there was 1/3 of the Angels that rebelled with Lucifer as noted in Revelation 12:4. The Stars of Heaven are the Angels.

It is the opinion of this author, that I haven't seen in any other Biblical Commentaries, that God has chosen / allowed "1/3 - one third ~ 33%" as an number of punitive consequences because that is the number of Angels that were deceived by Lucifer and rebelled. Lucifer and the Fallen Angels will recognize this 33% percentage judgment as matching their evil percentage.
Note that it is the belief of this author that part of the suffering in the Lake of Fire will contain remorse, even for Lucifer and Fallen Angels, that they will hold themselves accountable for evil with realization of perfect judgment against them from God. Recall that Lucifer, who possessed the Disciple Judas Iscariot, had Judas recognize that Judas betrayed innocent blood in the turning over of Jesus Christ to be Crucified.

There have been several Biblical Scholars, such as Walter Martin, who have stated that they believe during the Tribulation Period there will be more people receiving Salvation than all of the other prior periods of history. Additionally, there will be more people receiving Salvation from China, with its dense population of people, than any other place on the Earth. God will not let the Four Fallen Angels, leading the Kings of the East countries to have any complete / full victory over all the people in the countries that are part of the Kings of the East.
The following table chart below represents a beautiful scenario that this author remembers hearing something to this effect around 1984 while attending a Hilton Sutton speaking event. Paraphrased by this author, these were the additional points that Hilton Sutton was making concerning the Tribulation Period before reading the table chart:
In previous times in history, people could go through their
entire lives with the possibility of ignoring God. In the Tribulation
Period, unlike any other time in
history, there is not going to be any neutral place to live without making a
choice to accept or reject Jesus Christ, which will result in great
numbers of people receiving
Salvation.
(a) This is confirmed by many scriptures, where the Seals of Judgment will
also force a decision of every single person.
(b) Those under the Age of
Accountability who will receive Salvation by God's Glory and God's
providence.

Those of Israel, that flee to the mountains, will be taken care of by God as read in Revelation 12:1-6 and Revelation 12:13-14, for 3.5 years. Note that "thousand two hundred and threescore days" is 3.5 years, and "a time, and times, and half a time" is also 3.5 years.

As noted above in the scriptural passage of Zechariah 13:8-9, there will 2/3 of Jewish people in the world killed by the forces of the Antichrist. We do not know how many of these 2/3 have Salvation, but the preponderance of scripture leads us to know that God will not give glory to Lucifer and the Antichrist on any victories for those God has preordained for Salvation.

Using the estimated number of Jewish people, with 2021 numbers, those surviving the Tribulation Period is an approximate 2,462,640 Jewish people. These people will be protected and hidden from the Antichrist according to Daniel 11:41 (verse listed above). This will take a fairly large area of the mountains which the theoretical location of Petra could hold the remnant of Israel. The location of Petra is described as having:
| This is an excerpt from the 70th Week of Daniel topic: There is unfortunately some Christians who are questioning whether or not we are in the 70th Week of Daniel, which is the Seven Years divided in two have of 3.5 years. The first 3.5 years is peace, and then the Tribulation Period in the last 3.5 years. Unquestionably, we are not in the 70th Week of Daniel because there is no peace in Israel. Note: God exists outside of all Time Domains. Time is a physical property based on acceleration, gravity, and mass. Events can happen in Heaven with no time passing on Earth. The next two events after the Tribulation Period is completed:
| The following is an excerpt from the
70 Week of Daniel Topic: At the end of the Book of Daniel, there are two remarkable verses that there is
no agreement between Biblical Scholars on what the day references mean.
The Angel Gabriel is giving an additional
prophecy to Daniel start in Daniel 12:1-3 dealing with the end-times, where the unknown verses are in verse
11 and 12.
When Daniel was writing the verses, there is the remarkable acknowledgment that Daniel did not know what the verses meant as indicated in Daniel 12:8. In the verse of Daniel 12:4, the "words" (which is meant to be the Word of God ~ scriptures) is dealing with the prophecy that is about to be given which is:
Interestingly, in the verse 5 and 6 of Daniel 12 (shown below), then Daniel sees two other men standing across from one another on a river. Each was on the opposing riverbank. One of the two of the two men asks the question "How long shall the fulfillment of these wonders be?" Note that it is important to notice that these two men were not identified to be Daniel and not the Angel Gabriel. Speculation and a theory by this author is:
The physical floating in the air position of one of the two men, suddenly who was above the waters of the river, is hard to speculate. Some people might state the possibility that the man "above the waters" is Jesus Christ in a Theophany appearance, as the man knows the future. This author is not stating the floating man is Jesus Christ, but imagine it might be a thought considered and there are no Biblical Commentaries, that this author could find, to give a good enough theory on the floating man.
When dealing with Daniel 11-12, we are given a starting point of the Abomination of Desolation Event, where we know the Tribulation Period ends after 1260 days, which is 3.5 years, but the two verses state additional days after the Tribulation Period ends. The question that no Biblical Commentaries have a good answer is what is occurring:
A few Biblical Scholars, including this Author, believe the Judgment Seat of Jesus Christ and the Wedding Supper of the Lamb occurs immediately after the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, which is the ending of the Tribulation Period. The extra 30 Days and 70 days, may contain the period of time for all these events:
(Note: some readers may disagree with the placement of the Judgment Seat of Jesus Christ, where the theory is explanted in the Judgment Seat of Jesus Christ topic. Also, note that God is not confined to time constraints and God exists outside of His entire Creation. The Kingdom of God, is not restricted to time, God exists outside of time and there are multiple Time Domains that God has created.) As detailed in the 70th week in Daniel topic, the week is a period of seven years, where the period is divided into two halves of 3.5 years, which is 1260 days and 1260 days. God, in all of the prophecies in the Bible. uses 30 day months of 360 day years. The starting point of the Tribulation Period is the Abomination of Desolation Event.

In order, for the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments as one Book, to have all the proof in the patterns, encryptions, models, and even unique counting of words, people, and even places means the source has to be from an entity outside of Time which is God.
It is impossible for the 40 authors, in the 66 books, to have conspired with one another in multiple times in history to accomplish some of the encryptions that are being found through computer software.
