Are Guardian Angels Real?

Yes, they are real.  God has placed His Angels, for many roles with duties, which include being in service for:

The Holy Spirit is the protector of those who have and will inherit Salvation, and Angels are part of His plans.

Hebrews 1:14 Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?
Daniel 9:21 while I was still in prayer, Gabriel, the man I had seen in the earlier vision, came to me in swift flight about the time of the evening sacrifice.
Hebrews 13:2 Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
Luke 16:22 “The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried.
Psalm 34:7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.
Palm 91:11-12 11 For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. 12 On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.
Exodus 23:20 See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.

Sometimes Angels are on missions of battle with the Satanic Forces of Fallen Angels and Demons that are against us.  Other times Angels are sometimes on a mission of bringing justice and even death to people on the Earth.

A Cherub, which is of higher stature than a Archangel, guarded the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden.  An Angel could have prevented any human from access to the Tree of Life.  This indicates it was about keeping Lucifer and Fallen Angels from accessing the fruit of the Tree of Life which could be given to fallen human-being so that they could live forever.

Additional Topical Side Note where Angels are active in battle:

Most Christians ask and are unaware of the main reason why Lucifer is still active in the world since Jesus Christ already accomplished the Cross.  Yes, one answer can be said that Lucifer wants to stop as many people as possible from accepting Jesus Christ.

Biblical Scholars point out that Lucifer's primary goal now is the killing and elimination of all the Jewish people in the world, not just the country of Israel, so that he can avoid the Lake of Fire destiny.  If it were possible to eliminate all Jews in the world, then that would prevent Jesus Christ from His Second Coming, because it requires Israel to recognize their Messiah, and ask for Him to return.  With no Return, then Tribulation Period does not end.

One of the numerous proofs of what the Word of God gives us, along with the saving power of Jesus Christ, is the history of all of the attempted genocides against Jewish people in history.  No other people in the world have suffered, been enslaved, tortured and killed like the Jewish people.  There is a pattern throughout the history of the world.  Read the topic on the Tribulation Purpose for more information.

Prophet Elisha's Protection of Angels

One of this author's favorite passages deals with the point when the King of Aram (2 Kings 6:8) is chasing the King of Israel for battle but cannot ever catch him.  The Prophet Elisha is giving the King of Israel information from God on where not to go (2 Kings 6:9).  The King of Aram, learns in 2 Kings 6:12 that Elisha is warning Israel, so the King of Aram goes to find Elisha.

King Aram's forces surround the city where Elisha is dwelling and Elisha's servant discovers there is a siege on the city where he becomes worried.  In 2 Kings 6:16-17, Elisha prays to God for his servant to have his eyes opened to see the Angelic Host protecting them.

2 Kings 6:16-17 16 So he answered, "Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them." 17 Then Elisha prayed and said, "O LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see." And the LORD opened the servant's eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

After Elisha's servants' eyes are opened, then Elisha:

  1. Prays to have the enemy blinded,
  2. Guides the enemy to Samaria,
  3. Prays again for their eyes to see once again where the enemy finds themselves at the mercy of the King of Israel, who spares them.

Soldier Angels

There are many scriptural passages that describe the power of Angels against humankind in the world, along with the Satanic Forces.  Many Christians unfortunately have the belief that Angels are passive creatures that only perform some type of servant service for God.  This is not the case as seen in five points in scriptures of many.
  1. As noted above: In Genesis 3:24, a Cherub, which is a type of super-angel, guards the way to the Tree of Life with a Faming Sword.
  2. In Exodus 12:23, the Angel of Death called the Destroyer, kills all of the first-born humans and animals of families with the exception of those who had blood on the doorposts as Moses had instructed.  See Exodus 12:29.
  3. In Joshua 5:20, the walls of Jericho collapsed, which is backed up by archeology, where Biblical Scholars believe God had Angels push the walls from the outside to the inside, which crushed many of the enemy soldiers.
  4. In 2 Kings 19:35, a single Angel killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers in one night.
  5. In 2 Samuel 24:15-16, God stopped the Angel from killing/destroying Jerusalem.  This was God's intention all along, but the message was for Israel to understand the consequences of their actions.
Genesis 3:24 After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherub and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.
Exodus 12:23

Exodus 12:29
23 "For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the LORD will pass over the door and will not allow the destroyer to come in to your houses to smite you.

29 Now it came about at midnight that the LORD struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of cattle.
Joshua 5:20 When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city.
2 Kings 19:35 Then it happened that night that the angel of the LORD went out and struck 185,000 in the camp of the Assyrians; and when men rose early in the morning, behold, all of them were dead.
2 Samuel 24:15-16 15 So the LORD sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning until the appointed time, and seventy thousand men of the people from Dan to Beersheba died 16 When the angel stretched out his hand toward Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD relented from the calamity and said to the angel who destroyed the people, "It is enough! Now relax your hand!" And the angel of the LORD was by the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.

Angels are Not to be Worshiped or Prayed To

The scripture is very explicit that we are to pray only to God in Jesus Christ's name. We are NOT to pray to:
  1. Anything that was created by God, where Angels and Humans are created beings.
  2. People we presume are in Heaven.
  3. Old Testament Prophets in Heaven.
  4. Apostles that we know are in Heaven.
  5. Mary, the earthly mother of Jesus Christ.

We absolutely should ask other Christians on earth to pray for us and with us, where prayers are only directed to God in Jesus Christ's name.  When we ask someone for prayer, then we are able to be in agreement with one another, to the Glory of God.  There is no agreement being done with someone in Heaven other than God.  Matthew 18:19, states "on earth" as requirement when praying in agreement.

Matthew 18:19 Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.

The Roman Catholic Church Denomination often recites prayers that ask people in Heaven to pray on our behalf, which is wrong for the same reasons to not pray to Mary, and ask Mary to pray for us:

  1. The Apostles and Mary are not omnipresent where even if God allowed us to pray to them, then these people in Heaven would have to have the ability to hear potentially multitudes of thousands of prayers simultaneously by people on earth.
  2. No one heaven is justified to be in Heaven on their own merit.  Only the payment for a person's sins by Jesus Christ through acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior.
  3. God asks us to pray to Him.  Jesus Christ, when asked how to pray, said that we should speak directly to the Father.
  4. In other scriptures, we are told to pray in agreement and in Jesus Christ's name.
  5. Romans 8:34 lets us know that Jesus Christ sees all, because He is omniscient, and is always interceding for us.
  6. Romans 8:26-27, lets us know that the Holy Spirit aids us in our prayers, so this is another pointer to know we are to pray only to God as God is involved in the prayers of His Believers.

Some scriptures that remind us not to pray to angels, and our prayers are to be to God only.

Colossians 2:18 Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you with speculation about what he has seen. Such a person is puffed up without basis by his unspiritual mind.
Romans 1:25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is forever worthy of praise! Amen.
Revelation 22:8-9 8 And I am John, who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had shown me these things. 9 But he said to me, “Do not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God!”
Matthew 4:8-10 8 Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 “All this I will give You,” he said, “if You will fall down and worship me.” 10 "Away from Me, Satan!” Jesus declared. “For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.’”
John 14:13-14 13 And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask Me for anything in My name, I will do it.
Romans 8:26-27 26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how we ought to pray, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words. 27 And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
Romans 8:34 Who is there to condemn us? For Christ Jesus, who died, and more than that was raised to life, is at the right hand of God—and He is interceding for us.

Will God's Angels Remember Evil in Eternity Future?

This is an excerpt from the Wipe Away All Tears topic:

Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.

We learn in the Book of Revelation that God will be wiping our tears away.  The answer to the possibilities of why God is doing this is most likely for the lost opportunities we had to:

It is a gift from God to remove the memories of the past when there was evil.

There is the question that this author has not seen in any Biblical Commentaries, which is:

"Will God also remove the memories of the fallen Angels and all other evils in the minds of His Angels?"

This author believes the answer is "yes", as the Angels do not deserve the burden of the remembrance of evil.  This does not contradict the "Purpose of All History" as all human-beings and Angels in Eternity Future with God can know the Restitution done by Jesus Christ without requiring to remember evil.

We will see how God perfectly handles this scenario and dilemma, as any memories of Lucifer, Fallen Angels, Nephilim and human-being without Salvation potentially means a negative thought of the past enters into Eternity, which is not required (and not possible).   This author absolutely believes God will perfectly handle this to give all of us peace in our thoughts for eternity.
