The Book of Daniel gave us the exact day that Jesus Christ would be crucified which is the fourteen day of the Jewish month of Nisan.  This topic details the scriptural prophecy and calculations that are absolutely amazing that point to Jesus Christ of the Bible.  Jesus Christ is who He said He was which is the Messiah and the Son of God.

Additionally, the Book of Daniel gave us incredibly detailed information concerning events that will happen during a period known as the Tribulation Period.

Summary

This is one of many of the most amazing prophecy scriptural passages in the entire scriptures.  In the Book of Daniel, in Chapter 9, contains a prophecy that Biblical Scholars have labeled:

  1. The 69 Weeks of Daniel, and
  2. The 70th Week of Daniel.

Starting in verse 20 of Chapter 9, Daniel is praying and is visited by the Angel Gabriel who gives a prophecy in verse 24-27:

Daniel 9:20 - 23 20 While I was speaking and praying, confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel and making my request to the Lord my God for his holy hill— 21 while I was still in prayer, Gabriel, the man I had seen in the earlier vision, came to me in swift flight about the time of the evening sacrifice. 22 He instructed me and said to me, “Daniel, I have now come to give you insight and understanding. 23 As soon as you began to pray, a word went out, which I have come to tell you, for you are highly esteemed. Therefore, consider the word and understand the vision:
Daniel 9:24 - 27 24 Seventy weeks are decreed upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy. 25 Know therefore and discern, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the anointed one, the prince, shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: it shall be built again, with street and moat, even in troublous times. 26 And after the threescore and two weeks shall the anointed one be cut off, and shall have nothing: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and even unto the end shall be war; desolations are determined. 27 And he shall make a firm covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease; and upon the wing of abominations shall come one that maketh desolate; and even unto the full end, and that determined, shall wrath be poured out upon the desolate.

The prophecy, in Daniel 9:24-27, is dealing with seventy weeks that are not contemporaneous.  They are included as a group of weeks where each week is defined as period of seven years, as a day is analogous to a year in the scriptures when dealing with prophecies.  This style of using days to represent years is used throughout the entirety of the scriptures.

The breakdown on the weeks from the scriptural passage is:

  1. 7 Weeks of years, which is 49 years.
  2. 62 Weeks of years, which is 434 years.
  3. 1 Week of years, which is 7 years.

The first "seven weeks" and then the "62 weeks of years" (in the scriptural passage is "threescore and two weeks")* is contiguous.

* Note: that a score is 20, so threescore is 3 X 20 = 60.  Adding two weeks means 62 weeks.

These five other topics are relevant to use of day for a year, which is helpful before continuing to read this 70th Week of Daniel topic.  (God uses a 30 Day month in all of the prophecies.):

  1. Biblical Year is 360 days, and a Day for a Year definition
  2. God's Calendar, the Months of the Year
  3. A Biblical Day
  4. The Day Jesus Christ would present Himself as the Messiah
  5. Day Jesus Christ died on the Cross

In between the 69 Weeks of Daniel and the 70th Week of Daniel is the period of time known as the Fullness of the Gentiles, which gets the name from the passage in Luke 21:24.

Luke 21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led captive into all the nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

After the completion of the Fullness of the Gentiles, then the 70th Week of Daniel can occur with the following points:

Partial excerpt from Alexander the Great topic that proves the Book of Daniel was written between 604 BC and 565 BC:
  1. The Septuagint Old Testament dates back to the period of 285-247, which contains the Book of Daniel.
  2. The Dead Sea Scrolls have the Book of Daniel, and the scrolls date back to at least 408 BC.
  3. Periodicity of the Book of Daniel regarding:
    (a) The
    grammar,
    (b) Etymology, and
    (c) Choice of words
were specific for the time period that proves that the Book of Daniel was written between 604 BC and 532 BC
excerpt screen capture from the link in point 3:

  4. The primary point of old historical scriptural copies from several sources, besides the two noted, is the old parchments do not contradict one another.  The scribes, from different geographical areas which were COPYING scriptures, did not conspire with one another to make sure there were no contradictions.
  5. The Book of Ezekiel in verse 28:3 mentions the Prophet Daniel where the Book of Ezekiel was written between 593 and 565 BC.
Ezekiel 28:3 Behold, thou art wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from thee:
  6. Josephus in the book "Antiquities of the Jews" discusses the encounter with Alexander the Great in Jerusalem around 332 BC, where the Book of Daniel is mentioned as shown below in this screen capture excerpt from Josephus's book.  See this link for full "Antiquities of the Jews".

Meaning of Verse 24

Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are decreed upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy.

Points on Verse 24:

  1. There are seventy weeks established on the Holy City, which is Jerusalem.
    (a) This is a total of 70 weeks
    (b) The portions are given in weeks, so the key part is there are blocks of weeks.
  2. The transgression against God will be ended.
    (a) The transgression is the sin of Lucifer, the Fallen Angels and Mankind.
    (b) Jerusalem will no longer by occupied and ruled by another group other than the nation of Israel.
  3. There will be an everlasting righteousness.
  4. The most Holy God will be anointed, that points to Jesus Christ.

Meaning of Verse 25

Daniel 9:25 Know therefore and discern, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the anointed one, the prince, shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: it shall be built again, with street and moat, even in troublous times.

Points on Verse 25:

  1. This verse identifies the time periods which starts with the rebuilding of the Temple.
  2. At this time of Daniel, the city of Jerusalem is a city in rubble after the third and last siege from Nebuchadnezzar, as discussed in the topic on Nebuchadnezzar's accomplishments, milestones and important dates.
  3. As listed above:
    (a) 7 Weeks of years, which is 49 years
    (b) 62 Weeks of years, which is 434 years
    (c) 1 Week of years, which is 7 years.
  4. The moat would be built around the city during the rebuilding of the city and Temple, which is described in the Book of Nehemiah and Ezra.

Meaning of Verse 26

Daniel 9:26 And after the threescore and two weeks shall the anointed one be cut off, and shall have nothing: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and even unto the end shall be war; desolations are determined.
Isaiah 53:8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who among them considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living for the transgression of my people to whom the stroke was due?

Points on Verse 26:

  1. After the first "7 Weeks of years", the Temple was completed, then the "62 Weeks of Years" occurs and the anointed one, the Messiah, would be "cut off".  "Cur off" means to be killed, as also described in the Holy of Holies in the Old Testament of Isaiah 52:13 - 53:12.
  2. The Messiah's death is not a tragedy but a fulfillment of scriptures.
  3. The "people of the prince that shall destroy the city and the sanctuary" is the Antichrist.  This is dealing with the last "1 Week of years".  The clue and pointer to knowing the "people of the prince that shall destroy the city and the sanctuary" is the next verse 27, which points to the that last week of years.
    (a) Note that Lucifer has always had a type-of Antichrist throughout history, where the last Antichrist is the one who will perform the last Abomination of Desolation

Meaning of Verse 27 - 70th Week of Daniel

Daniel 9:27 And he shall make a firm covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease; and upon the wing of abominations shall come one that maketh desolate; and even unto the full end, and that determined, shall wrath be poured out upon the desolate.

Points on Verse 27:

  1. There will be a covenant with the people of the city.  Because of the previous verses that are dealing with the holy city, which identified as Jerusalem where the temple is located, then, the "firm covenant with many for one week", means it is with Israel as Israel contains the city of Jerusalem.
  2. This period of time is "1 week of years", which means seven years.  The "midst of the week" means 3 and 1/2 years.
  3. Since the Temple was destroyed in 70 AD, by this scripture and other scriptures, Biblical Scholars point out that this is why we know that the Temple that was destroyed will be rebuilt.
  4. Since the Garden of Eden event with Adam and Eve, the world has been under the control of Lucifer and Lucifer has a reason to be against Israel, which is to prevent Lucifer's destiny.
  5. The "shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease" means the daily sacrifice, "oblation", at the temple will be stopped.  This is when the Antichrist will proclaim himself as god.
  6. The "wing of abominations" is the Abomination of Desolation.
  7. The "wrath be poured out upon the desolate" means that the true God will be pouring out the judgments on the whole world that are part of the Tribulation Period that causes death where World War II is only a small model in comparison.  World War II took 1 out of every 3 Jewish people in the world, where the Tribulation Period will take 2 out of 3 Jewish People as read in Zechariah 13:8.  Those who escape will be those who recognize the Messiah and escape to the Mountains as read in Matthew 24:15-18
Zechariah 13:8 In the whole land, declares the LORD, two thirds shall be cut off and perish, and one third shall be left alive.
Mathew 24:15-18 15 "Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), 16 then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains. 17 "Whoever is on the housetop must not go down to get the things out that are in his house. 18 "Whoever is in the field must not turn back to get his cloak.

14-Mar-445 BC Starting Date

To determine when the "69 Weeks of Years" per the prophecy means determining the start date the Temple that was to be rebuilt after the destruction from Nebuchadnezzar.  Of the sources to be used for finding the date, the first must be the Scriptures, and then archeological and historical sources.

The key verses in the Scriptures are from:

Haggai 2:18-19 18 Do consider from this day onward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month; from the day when the temple of the Lord was founded, consider: 19 Is the seed still in the barn? Even including the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree, it has not produced fruit. Yet from this day on I will bless you.’”
Nehemiah 2:1-6 1 In the month of Nisan in the twentieth year of King Artaxerxes, when wine was brought for him, I took the wine and gave it to the king. I had not been sad in his presence before, 2 so the king asked me, “Why does your face look so sad when you are not ill? This can be nothing but sadness of heart.” I was very much afraid, 3 but I said to the king, “May the king live forever! Why should my face not look sad when the city where my ancestors are buried lies in ruins, and its gates have been destroyed by fire?” 4 The king said to me, “What is it you want?”
Ezra 7:12-13 12 Artaxerxes, king of kings, unto Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, perfect and so forth. 13 I make a decree, that all they of the people of Israel, and their priests and the Levites, in my realm, that are minded of their own free will to go to Jerusalem, go with thee.
Ezra 7:19-23 19 And the vessels that are given thee for the service of the house of thy God, deliver thou before the God of Jerusalem. 20 And whatsoever more shall be needful for the house of thy God, which thou shalt have occasion to bestow, bestow it out of the king’s treasure-house. 21 And I, even I Artaxerxes the king, do make a decree to all the treasurers that are beyond the River, that whatsoever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, shall require of you, it be done with all diligence, 22 unto a hundred talents of silver, and to a hundred measures of wheat, and to a hundred baths of wine, and to a hundred baths of oil, and salt without prescribing how much. 23 Whatsoever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be done exactly for the house of the God of heaven; for why should there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons?

Archeological and historical sources, when paired with the scriptural text, yield the following:

The WIKIpedia, Artaxerxes I site in the section "Portrayal in the Book of Ezra and Nehemiah" does a very good job in explaining some of the dating, confusion and assumptions.  One part of the confusion is whether or not Ezra and Nehemiah are contemporaries, which is a reasonable question.  This author is leaning on the side that the Scriptures always use patterns and double references to confirm truths.

Therefore, getting the starting date of the 14th of March of the year 445 BC for the building of the Jerusalem Temple can be established with these additional summary points:

  1. Sir Robert Anderson's book gives multiple points, scriptural passages and seven points on page 95 explains the exact date very succinctly.  One key point that is very important is Haggai 2:18-19 that is a milestone on coming up with the specific day as already mentioned.
  2. Sir Robert Anderson's book reminds us that Daniel was praying for when the 70 Years of captivity were going to be ending, where God would have been precise on the exact number of days: 70 years X 360-day years = 25,200 days.
from page 95 of Coming Prince:

"Now both the "Servitude" and the "Captivity," ended with the decree of Cyrus in B.C. 536, permitting the return of the exiles. But as the language of Daniel 9:2 so plainly states, it was the seventy years of "The Desolations" that were the basis of the prophecy of the seventy weeks. And the epoch of that seventy years was the day on which Jerusalem was invested — the tenth Tebeth in the ninth year of Zedekiah — a day that has ever since been observed as a fast by the Jews in every land. (2 Kings
25:1.) Daniel and Revelation definitely indicate that the prophetic year is one of 360 days. Such moreover was the sacred year of the Jewish calendar; and, as is well known, such was the ancient year of Eastern nations. Now seventy years of 360 days contains exactly 25, 200 days; and as the Jewish New Year's Day depended on the equinoctial moon, we can assign the 13th December as "the Julian date" of tenth Tebeth 589. And 25, 200 days measured from that date ended on the 17th December
520, which was the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month in the second year of Darius of Persia — -the very day on which the foundation of the second Temple was laid. (Haggai 2:18, 19.)

Here is something to set both critics and Christians thinking. A decree of a Persian king was deemed to be divine, and any attempt to thwart it was usually met by prompt and drastic punishment; and yet the decree directing the rebuilding of the Temple, issued by King Cyrus in the zenith of his power, was thwarted for seventeen years by petty local governors. How was this? The explanation is that until the very last day of the seventy years of "the Desolations" had expired, God would not permit
one stone to be laid upon another on Mount Moriah."

more great information continued on this page in the book
  3. Sir Robert Anderson's book gives another reference to Astronomer Royal, Sir George Airy, to calculate the moon's place for March in the year questioned because of the significance of the lunar sacred schedule that gives the starting date.  This is on page 107.
from page 107 of Coming Prince:

Now it is an undisputed fact that Jerusalem was rebuilt by Nehemiah, under an edict issued by Arta-xerxes (Longimanus), in the twentieth year of his reign. Therefore, notwithstanding the doubts which controversy throws upon everything, the conclusion is obvious and irresistible that this was the epoch of the prophetic period. But the month date was Nisan, and the sacred year of the Jews began with the phases of the Paschal moon. I appealed, therefore, to the Astronomer Royal, the late Sir George Airy, to calculate for me the moon's place for March in the year in question, and I thus ascertained the date required— March 14th, B.C. 445.

69 Weeks Prophesy

This is one of the absolute jewels of prophecy of the scriptures.  The Book of Daniel was written at least 565 years before the birth of Jesus Christ so there can no claims of textual manipulation with the archeological evidence of the Dead Sea Scrolls and other documentation already discussed in this topic.

To perform the calculation, the chart below is used with the following points:

When looking at the following chart calculation:

  1. The First "1 Week of Years" the
    (a) The 2nd Temple was rebuilt in roughly 4 years and 3 months, during the local king Darius the Mede who ruled the area for the new Persian empire that overthrew the Babylonian Empire.
    (b) The wall was being rebuilt around Jerusalem, which took 52 days.
    (c) The complete restoration of the Temple took 49 Years and ten days after the rebuilding of the Jerusalem Wall
    (d) The Old Testament Cannon is completed
  2. There is no year zero.  In other words, the period of time between 1 BC and 1 AD is one year.
  3. Prior to the Long Day of Joshua and 2 King 20 Event, the year on Earth was 360 Days long, which made all calculations for the Bible, that involved years to use 360 day years.
  4. Scriptural and historical sources give us the date start of March 14th, 445 BC for the "the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem", where the tracking of years, months and days at that time is very difficult, but this date is agreed upon by many Biblical Commentaries.
  5. There are many skeptics that state that there is absolutely no way to pinpoint an exact date with the year and the day when the Crucifixion occurred.  Sir Robert Anderson, many Biblical Scholars and this author disagree with skeptics.  Regardless, this prophecy in Daniel chapter 9 identifies the "cut off" death of the "anointed one", where there is no other candidate person other than Jesus Christ in history.  Additionally, Josephus helps the skeptic by identifying Jesus Christ as the person in the scriptures.
  6. God gave all of us this amazing passage of scripture in Daniel for Israel to recognize their Messiah that would come to take upon the sins of the world, Book of Isaiah - Chapter 53
  7. Another amazing scriptural account to consider is the Magian Priest (known as the three kings), who knew when to look for the birth of Jesus Christ, that also comes from the life of Daniel influence in the Magians.

Therefore, the date of the execution of the Messiah was absolutely precise as God was in control.  The following chart gives the days calculation based on the years with the starting date of Mach 14th, 445 BC, where the next goal is to identify the date in history that the Messiah would be killed.

Date Event / Notes Calculation Duration Days Calc Days Milestone Event
March 14th 445 BC Command to Rebuild the Temple 1 Week = 7 X 7 49 Years 49 X 360 Days 17,640 Temple is rebuilt, refurbished and operational.  Old Testament Cannon is completed
  62 Weeks of Years 62 * 7 434 Year 434 X 360 Days 156,240 Day Messiah executed
        Total Days: 173,880

There are some who may state that this is a very difficult area to make an exact estimate day because of the accuracy of calendars in the Ancient World.  Regardless of the human based accuracy, using the calculations below (also other Christian's estimates), comes to an approximation which the precision that points to Jesus Christ leaves no ambiguity to the perfection of God's accuracy.

To pinpoint a date, we have to use 365.25 days in a year for calculating the prophetic date after the start date.  As noted, the Long Day of Joshua and 2 King 20 Event changed the 360-day calendar year to 365.25 days in a year.  We are doing calculations after the year change.

Some other notes:

Adding 476 Years and 22 Days to the starting date of March 14th, 445 BC gives us April 5th, 32 AD as the day that the Messiah would be "cut off" which meant to be executedIsaiah 52:13 through Isaiah 53:12 is called the Holy of Holies of the Old Testament that points to Jesus Christ's life with the climax on the Cross.  Additionally, Psalm 22 is often called the Crucifixion Psalm that points to the experience on the Cross.

Milestones     Notes
Start 14-Mar-445 BC   March 14th - March has 31 days
Days to Year 1 BC 444   445 BC adding 444 years = Year 1 BC
No Year Zero - 2 years is 1 year 1   Add 1 Year goes to 1 AD
Next Start is 1 AD 31   Add remaining 31 years of 476 years
The Year is: 0032 AD
Years that transpired: 476
Add 22 Days to March 14 5-Apr-0032 AD   This corresponds to Nissan 14 <*>

<*> Computer modeling of years with date and day of the week, are very difficult to calculate and have accuracy.  This author believes Nissan 14, does correspond to 5-Apr-0030 AD, as discussed next in the excerpt from Day Jesus Christ was Crucified

The following an excerpt from Day Jesus Christ was Crucified:

Using the amazing prophecy given to Daniel, by the Angel Gabriel in the 69 Weeks of Daniel Chapter 9 scriptures, the calculations give us a date of 5-Apr-32 AD, when using the start date of 14-Mar-445 BC.  Different Biblical Scholars have disagreements on the year, while all agree on the number of 173,880 days that transpired from start date to date revealed is correct, the following points are debated:

  • Starting year may not be correct.
  • Day of the week, for 5-Apr-32 AD may not be correct on computer modeling.
  • The common agreed range is years 30 AD to 32 AD.
  • The prophecy in the Book of Daniel can only point to Jesus Christ as there is no other candidate.

Assuming the computer model calculations of day of the week, Wednesday, matching 14 of Nissan, the Crucifixion happened: on Roman Calendar April 5th, 30 AD.

To aid in verifying the vicinity of the year, we can look at "The Annals, Book XV", where Tacitus states that

"Cristus, from whom the name ['Christian'] had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of the procurators, Potntius Pilatus..."

Pilate was the Roman procurator of Judea from 26 AD through 36 AD.

From the scriptures, we know:

  • Book of Luke: Jesus began His ministry when He "was about 30 years of age".
  • Book of John: There are three annual Passovers during His ministry (John 2:23; John 6:4; John 13:1).

Working from all these points of information, it can be determined that Jesus Christ was crucified in his early 30s.

Note that Jesus' birth was before the 1 AD and there is no 0 AD.   Some Biblical scholars point to Jesus' birth to be in the year of 4 BC.

How to Know Daniel's 70th Week hasn't Started

There is unfortunately some Christians who are questioning whether or not we are in the 70th Week of Daniel, which is the Seven Years divided in two have of 3.5 years.  The first 3.5 year is peace, and then the Tribulation Period in the last 3.5 years.

Unquestionably, we are not in the 70th Week of Daniel because there is no peace in Israel.  According to Daniel 9:27, the Antichrist will make a covenant that is broken at the Abomination of Desolation event, at the half way point of the seven years.  The first 3.5 years before the Abomination of Desolation event are a time that Israel will be living in peace with "land of unwalled villages" according to the prophecy concerning the Antichrist in Ezekiel 38:10-13.

Daniel 9:27

Oblation is Temple sacrifices

And he shall make a firm covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease; and upon the wing of abominations shall come one that maketh desolate; and even unto the full end, and that determined, shall wrath be poured out upon the desolate.
Ezekiel 38:10-13 10 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: It shall come to pass in that day, that things shall come into thy mind, and thou shalt devise an evil device: 11 and thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell securely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates; 12 to take the spoil and to take the prey; to turn thy hand against the waste places that are now inhabited, and against the people that are gathered out of the nations, that have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the middle of the earth. 13 Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take the spoil? hast thou assembled thy company to take the prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take great spoil?

Today, Israel has walls and barriers that separate and protect themselves from militant Muslim groups.  On a routine basis, different Muslim terrorist groups are firing rockets at Israel and attempting all kinds of disruptive and murderous actives.

A second reason to know we aren't in the 70th Week of Daniel, is there no Jewish Rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem.  The Temple needs to be rebuilt in order for the Abomination of Desolation event to occur.  As of 2021, there is no announcements of the process to build a new Temple.

Building a new Temple will most likely take at least a one-year period, with exacts specifications taken from scriptures, which with require the securing of a land location that will certainly be publicized in the Media around the world.  There is the possibility that the Temple could be constructed during the 70th Week period, but this author believes the peace treaty of Daniel 9:27 will coincide with Israel enjoying the full use of the Temple without fear of terrorism for the first 3.5 years of the 70th Week.

Israel's Military Neutralized & Jewish Survivors

During the process of the Antichrist's rise to power before the 70th Week of Daniel, the Antichrist will start to secure power in all the areas of the old Roman Empire, where a primary concern will be the military power of Israel.  He will achieve this by peace treaties according to the scriptures.

The following is an excerpt from the Tribulation Period topic:

Israel's military will be neutralized by the Antichrist before the Abomination of Desolation event.

  • It is the theory, as mentioned above in this topic, that the first 3.5 years of the 70th Week of Daniel time period will have the Antichrist using the false peace period to convert over many people in Israel: (a) to follow him (b) deceived by him; where this will eventually involve their death or even becoming an non-threat by potentially some of the Israeli people taking the Mark of the Beast.
  • Israel has one of the most advanced military defense systems and trained troops, so removing this threat will require advanced actions.
    (a) Prior to WWII starting, Hitler (a type of foreshadowing of the Antichrist) through politics and negotiations in 1933 through 1938 managed to weaken and remove initial pivotal military obstacles in Poland and Czechoslovakia, all with the subterfuge of peace.
    (b) the Antichrist will use the first 3.5 years of the 70th Week of Daniel to remove the Israeli military problem.  Daniel 8:24-25 states the Antichrist will also use subterfuge of a fake peace to achieve military victories without military actions.
Daniel 8:24-25 24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper and do his pleasure; and he shall destroy the mighty ones and the holy people. 25 And through his policy he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and in their security shall he destroy many: he shall also stand up against the prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
Daniel 9:27 27 He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him. ”
  • Israel possesses nuclear weapons and have publicly stated that they will exercise the Sampson or Masada Option if required as last resort to eliminate the military power and its source if Israel was facing an emanate military take-over by a hostile government.  This will also require the possibility of use.

Using the estimated number of Jewish people, with 2021 numbers, those surviving the Tribulation Period is an approximate 2,462,640 Jewish people.  These people will be protected and hidden from the Antichrist according to Daniel 11:41 (verse listed above)This will take a fairly large area of the mountains which the theoretical location of Petra could hold the remnant of Israel.  The location of Petra is described as having:

  • 264 squared kilometers or 102 square miles.  There are many major cities in the world that are smaller geographically and have more people living in their city limits.
  • An elevation of 810 meters or 2,657 feet height
  • Building and civil engineering established around the 5th century BC

1290 Days and 1335 Days of Daniel 12:11-12

At the end of the Book of Daniel, there are two remarkable verses that there is no agreement between Biblical Scholars on what the day references mean.  The Angel Gabriel is giving an additional prophecy to Daniel start in Daniel 12:1-3 dealing with the end-times, where the unknown verses are in verse 11 and 12.

Daniel 12:11-12 11 “And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12 Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.

When Daniel was writing the verses, there is the remarkable acknowledgment that Daniel did not know what the verses meant as indicated in Daniel 12:8.

In the verse of Daniel 12:4, the "words" (which is meant to be the Word of God ~ scriptures) is dealing with the prophecy that is about to be given which is:

Daniel 12:4 “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”
Daniel 12:8 Although I heard, I did not understand. Then I said, “My lord, what shall be the end of these things?”

Interestingly, in the verse 5 and 6 of Daniel 12 (shown below), then Daniel sees two other men standing across from one another on a river.  Each was on the opposing riverbank.  One of the two of the two men asks the question "How long shall the fulfillment of these wonders be?"  Note that it is important to notice that these two men were not identified to be Daniel and not the Angel Gabriel

Speculation and a theory by this author is:

The physical floating in the air position of one of the two men, suddenly who was above the waters of the river, is hard to speculate.  Some people might state the possibility that the man "above the waters" is Jesus Christ in a Theophany appearance, as the man knows the future.  This author is not stating the floating man is Jesus Christ, but imagine it might be a thought considered and there are no Biblical Commentaries, that this author could find, to give a good enough theory on the floating man.

Daniel 12:5-6 4 “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.” 5 Then I, Daniel, looked; and there stood two others, one on this riverbank and the other on that riverbank. 6 And one said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How long shall the fulfillment of these wonders be?

When dealing with Daniel 11-12, we are given a starting point of the Abomination of Desolation Event, where we know the Tribulation Period ends after 1260 days, which is 3.5 years, but the two verses state additional days after the Tribulation Period ends.  The question that no Biblical Commentaries have a good answer is what is occurring:

  1. During the additional 30 days?
  2. During the additional 75 days?
Daniel 12:11-12 11“And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12 Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.

A few Biblical Scholars, including this Author, believe the Judgment Seat of Jesus Christ and the Wedding Supper of the Lamb occurs immediately after the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, which is the ending of the Tribulation Period.  The extra 30 Days and 70 days, may contain the period of time for all these events:

(Note: some readers may disagree with the placement of the Judgment Seat of Jesus Christ, where the theory is explanted in the Judgment Seat of Jesus Christ topic.  Also, note that God is not confined to time constraints and God exists outside of His entire Creation.  The Kingdom of God, is not restricted to time, God exists outside of time and there are multiple Time Domains that God has created.)

As detailed in this 70th week in Daniel topic, the week is a period of seven years, where the period is divided into two halves of 3.5 years, which is 1260 days and 1260 days.  God, in all of the prophecies in the Bible, uses 30 day months of 360 day years.  The starting point of the Tribulation Period is the Abomination of Desolation Event.

Daniel 12:13 is referring to the Judgment Seat of Jesus Christ where all of us, who have Salvation, will receive our Rewards.

Daniel 12:13 “But you, go your way till the end; for you shall rest, and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days.”
