Many Christians do not recognize that the scriptures speak about Jesus Christ coming back to the Earth twice before setting up His Millennial Kingdom.

What is the Second Coming?

Jesus Christ is part of the Triune God. There is God the Father, Jesus Christ and God the Holy Spirit. The entire Old and New Testaments are about our God and the prophecies concerning Jesus Christ. The entire Old and New Testaments give incredible and precise specifics about all of the plans that God is doing:

For the redemption of all human beings that would accept Jesus Christ as their Savior.
Dealing with Lucifer, Fallen Angels and Demons, and human beings who reject Jesus Christ..
Eternity Future where perfection is restored after the completion of all details that will happen in the entirety of the scriptures.

Jesus Christ, throughout all of the Old Testament prophecies, came and become the payment for sins that was completed on the Day He was Crucified, which is the greatest prophetic event in history. In Isaiah 53, which is called the Holy of Holies of the Old Testament, there is a beautiful and awesome summary of the first coming of Jesus Christ would accomplish.

Jesus Christ told us in many scripture passage, such as Revelation 1:7, that He will return at the end of the Tribulation Period to set up His Millennial Kingdom. This will be fulfilling many prophecies concerning the ruling period that He will sit on the thrown of King David. It is often called "The Second Coming".

Luke 1:32-34

32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

There are many scriptural passages that describe Jesus Christ coming in secret, and then coming at the specific ending of the Tribulation Period. In order for Jesus Christ coming in secret means that it is a different event other than the event at the end of the Tribulation Period.

There are numerous prophecies of the 70th week of Daniel, that have many events occurring, which all occur precisely in a seven year period. The seven year period is divided into two equal three and one half years that can be summarized as:

Three and one half years period of a false peace on the Earth where the Antichrist is revealed, and the Antichrist sets up a kingdom against God.
A second three and one half year period of Judgments from God that are the Tribulation Period,

Once the 70th week of Daniel starts then people can simply add seven years to know when the Second Coming of Jesus will occur. Therefore, the scriptures dealing with Jesus Christ coming in secret are about another event.

The First Event

The first event of Jesus Christ returning to the Earth from Heaven is not known. Jesus Christ said know one knows the day or the hour.

When Jesus Christ comes on this first event it is to take all of the human being on the Earth that have accepted Him as their Savior to Heaven to not be on the Earth during the 70th week of Daniel. This event of Jesus Christ taking people out of the Earth is known as the Rapture. The word Rapture is from the Latin word for "taken quickly and all at once".

When the Rapture event happens, all of us that have Jesus Christ as their Savior will meet Jesus Christ in the atmosphere of the sky. It is simultaneously and all at once event. In the Old Testament and also in the New Testament, because of the significance of the horrible period of the 70th week of Daniel, God has told us that there will be the Rapture to not have those who have trusted in Jesus Christ to experience God's punitive, and also death consequential judgments.

Jesus Christ gave many parables for teaching where one is the Parable of the Foolish Virgins, which has the understanding that there will be three types of people on the Earth before Jesus Christ comes at the Rapture Event:

The wise virgins have made themselves ready to meet their future husband. These are the people who have Salvation.
The foolish virgins are people who believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the World and the Son of God, but these people have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior, where the admonition from Jesus Christ is do it now. These foolish virgins will accept Jesus Christ as their Savior but will have to go through the Tribulation Period where they will have great suffering and even potential death.
The third group is not mentioned in the parable, but the absence of being mentioned means there are people on the Earth who do not have Jesus Christ as their Savior and do not recognize Jesus Christ as God at the point of the Rapture. Many Biblical Scholars, which this author agrees with, believe there will be more people accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior in the Tribulation Period than any other time in history because unlike other times in history there isn't a place of neutrality that forces acceptance or rejection.

The Second Event

The second event is when Jesus Christ comes to Earth at First Armageddon Event, which is the end of the Tribulation Period. All of us, that are in heaven, will come with Jesus Christ at this Second Coming event. Prior to this event, will be the Wedding Supper of the Lamb, which is a special invitational dinner that is a celebration of Jesus Christ's victory before coming to Earth.

Several non-Biblical sources state that the valley of Har-Magedon is the location that has had the most fighting in the history of the Earth where Egyptians, Israelites, Greeks, Muslims, Crusaders, Mongols, British, Germans, Arabs and modern-day Israelis have died there. It has additionally also been a nearly constant location of small skirmishes between small groups.

The participants at the first Armageddon Event are:

The Kings of the East, who are the real catalyst for starting the marching of the World's Armies to the location.
The Antichrist's army that are in the control of the lands that were once part of the Old Roman Empire.
Other nations from Africa, and beyond, are united as one army. Revelation 16:14.

The most well-known introductory chapters concerning the events leading up to the Armageddon Event are Ezekiel Chapter 38 and Chapter 39 which is discussed in the Gog and Magog topic. The following scriptures, from the Book of Revelation, give us additional details of the Armageddon event.

Revelation 16:14	for they are spirits of demons, working signs; which go forth unto the kings of the whole world, to gather them together unto the war of the great day of God, the Almighty.
Revelation 16:16	And they gathered them together into the place which is called in Hebrew Har-Magedon.
Revelation 19:21	and the rest were killed with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, even the sword which came forth out of his mouth: and all the birds were filled with their flesh.

The following are a few scriptural passages that show there are two events when Jesus Christ returns to the Earth.

The first is for the removal of all the people of the Earth who have accepted him as Savior which is known as the Rapture.
The second is to end the Tribulation Period and set up His Millennial Kingdom.

1 Thessalonians 5:2 - After Antichrist is revealed. 2 Thes. 2:8 For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

Note that there are sometimes questions concerning people who are too young to have made a Salvation decision by accepting Jesus Christ as their savior and then those on Earth who have not heard of Jesus Christ.

Many Biblical Scholars, which this author agrees, state the principles of the Age of Accountability come into affect for anyone that does not have the mental ability to make a Salvation decision.
Jesus Christ stated that when the Gospel has been preached to the entire Earth then this is a prerequisite for His first return. The "" is concerning the end of the Church Age, which began in Acts chapter two and ends at the Rapture event. This is required so that the Tribulation Period can begin which God begins dealing with Israel once again where one of the primary purposes of the Tribulation Period is for the nation Israel collectively to recognize their Savior, which will occur.

Matthew 24:14

And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
