The Coming Prince
work in progress
In the Book of Daniel in Chapter 9 there is a startling prophecy that is so magnificent and extraordinary that it should forever silence the disbelief in the Messiah Jesus Christ. It deals with the Messiah revealing Himself to Israel and the world on a specific day along with other astonishing prophecies.
This topic leans heavily and uses the book written by Sir Robert Anderson called "The Coming Prince" which was published in 1894 and also read "Jesus died on what day by Chuck Missler" along with "Day Jesus is Crucified".
Starting in verse 20 of Chapter 9, Daniel is praying and is visited by the Angel Gabriel who gives a prophecy in verse 24-27:
20 While I was speaking and praying, confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel and making my request to the Lord my God for his holy hill— 21 while I was still in prayer, Gabriel, the man I had seen in the earlier vision, came to me in swift flight about the time of the evening sacrifice. 22 He instructed me and said to me, “Daniel, I have now come to give you insight and understanding. 23 As soon as you began to pray, a word went out, which I have come to tell you, for you are highly esteemed. Therefore, consider the word and understand the vision: 24 “Seventy ‘sevens’ are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the Most Holy Place. 25 “Know and understand this: From the time the word goes out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven ‘sevens,’ and sixty-two ‘sevens.’ It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble. 26 After the sixty-two ‘sevens,’ the Anointed One will be put to death and will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed. 27 He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.
God has and will always use 360 day years.
From Sanit Lukes's Gospel(Luke 3:1-2 "1 Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, and Herod was tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip was tetrarch of the region of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias was tetrarch of Abilene, 2 in the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John, the son of Zacharias, in the wilderness."), Jesus Christ began his ministry in the 15th year of Tiberius Caeser. It was before the Passover and between AD 28 and AD 29.
There was 483 prophetic years between the Edict of Artaxerxes and the finality of Jesus Christ's ministry. The Edict is the start of the 70 weeks of Daniel where Nehemiah was given permission to restore / rebuild Jerusalem. See Daniel 9:25 "Know and understand this: From the time the word goes out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven 'sevens,' and sixty-two 'sevens.' It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble. ". The year was 445 BC.
The Edict was issued in the Jewish month of Nisan. The exact day is not given in the Gospels when the given but according to Jewish common practice and history, it was the first day of the new year, 1st of Nisan 445 BC. This is the starting point.
The new moon cycle is the measure to establish that in 445 BC for the 1st of Nissan was 13th of March at 7h.9m. A.M. and accordingly the 1st may be assigned to the 14th of March.
Looking at Daniel's 9:25 prophecy, there will 7 Weeks plus 62 Weeks equals 69 Weeks. This is 483 prophetic years from the 14th of March 445 BC until the Messiah the Prince ~ The Anoited One.
