What is the Purpose of All History?

The purpose of all history can be stated is how can God, who is:

show Perfect Love to a world that is destined to eternal separation from God without a Savior? 

Additionally, how can God let all of the pain, suffering, murder, with the rebellion against God continue?

The answer is given to us in Ephesians 2:4-7, and is often called the purpose of God in all of history and the purpose of eternity future: 

Ephesians 2:4-7 4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

This then gives us the understanding that the actions of Lucifer, Fallen Angels, Demons and even human-kind who do not receive Salvation will have an opposite effect of the evil intentions.  

All of us, when we are with God in Eternity, will receive "surpassing riches of His Grace in kindness towards us in Christ Jesus" as read in Ephesians 2:4-7.  This applies to also the Angels as explained in this topic.  God is going to make all the rebellion, pain and striving against evil have the opposite effect of blessing the individual in eternity. 

God uses all suffering, even unto death, along with our work as Believers in the God of the Scriptures to develop us into the a greater and a more complete person in Jesus Christ's image.  As an analogy, all of who exercise become stronger, and when we study, we will learn more.  God will absolutely use all events in our lives to our advantage to develop greater trust and love for God.  This is the Great Gift that we are receiving when go through life as a Christian as read in James 1:2-4. 

James 1:2-4 2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you encounter trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4 Allow perseverance to finish its work, so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Because of our work and suffering in our lives, God then will have individual incredible Rewards in Heaven for everything a person goes through in life that pertains to the individual:
  1. In developing a relationship with God during life,
  2. Activities in God's Service,
  3. Faithfulness to the guidance of the Holy Spirit,
  4. Righteously suffering, and
  5. Overcoming sinful areas and obstacles in life through the Holy Spirit.

which gives God Glory.  Yes, we do not deserve Heaven except through Jesus Christ (Salvation), but as we are made righteous because of Jesus Christ in our lives after accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior, where we can then receive what Rewards that were earned in our lives. 

Absolutely there will be great Love and Gifts from God in Eternity future, but there are individual Rewards that were made possible because of going through evil events of suffering and doing work unto God, where the Rewards would not have been possible if Lucifer had not started the rebellion.  This is how and why everything done:

  • Against God,
  • Against Angels, and
  • Against us who have Salvation

will become Blessings.  All evil absolutely will not accomplish the primary goals against God, Angels and us with Salvation.   Even those who are babies, young, mentally handicapped or even those who never heard of God in the Old Testament Dispensation or Jesus Christ have special provision made under the Age of Accountability principle set forth in the scriptures.

In the next verses 8 through 10, we will understand that it was by nothing we could have done to inherit entrance into Heaven into the presence of God without accepting the provision made through Jesus Christ on the Cross.

Ephesians 2:8-10 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;, 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

When we are in eternity future, the Rewards of Heaven earned will lead us to a greater love of God for eternity for the chances and opportunities provided by God through His Grace.

Does the Purpose of All History Apply to Angels?

The question sometimes asked is: "Does the purpose of all history also applies to Angels?", and the answer is yes absolutely.

The overlooked aspect of the Purpose of All History is God will also be demonstrating to the Angels the His Great Love.   The Grace and Mercy of God for human-beings to provide Himself through death on the Cross by Jesus Christ to justify human-beings, shows God's Great Love which the Angels are witnessing. 

Angels, in eternity future, will be blessed in more ways by God's Love for having gone through:

Revelation 12:7-9

Michael is an Angel

7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels going forth to war with the dragon; and the dragon warred and his angels; 8 and they prevailed not, neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was cast down, the old serpent, he that is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world; he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him.
Luke 15:10 In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels over one sinner who repents.
1 Peter 1:10-12 10 As to this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that would come to you made careful searches and inquiries, 11 seeking to know what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow. 12 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things into which angels long to look.

This will make the rebellion of Lucifer and the Fallen Angels to have had the opposite effect they intended.

At the End of the 1000 Millennial Kingdom

The following is an excerpt from the 1000 Millennial Kingdom of Jesus Christ

There is still the requirement to accept Jesus Christ through Faith before the end of the Millennial Kingdom to be able to be in Eternity future with God in Heaven.  There will be one last rebellion when Lucifer is released from chains in Lower Sheol.  Lucifer will deceive many of the nations in one final attempt against Jesus Christ, which is called the final Gog and Magog event.  All of those who are present against Jesus Christ will be killed instantaneously by fire from Heaven.  After this is the final Great White Thrown of Judgment.  At this Judgment the Fallen Angels, Demons and human beings without Salvation, will be judged by Jesus Christ and all human beings who have Salvation.

Revelation 20:7-10 7 When the thousand years are completed, Lucifer will be released from his prison, 8 and will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together for the war; the number of them is like the sand of the seashore. 9 And they came up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, and fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10 And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Points of the passage:

  1. The 1000 Millennial Kingdom of Jesus Christ has been completed, where Jesus Christ ruled with absolute authority, sitting on the Throne of King David as promised to Mary by the Angel Gabriel.
  2. Lucifer is released from the prison in lower Sheol to deceive the nations of the World.
  3. There is the second Gog and Magog event, which includes all nations from the earth.  The similarity of the first Gog and Magog event is the Lucifer and his prince Gog with the nations like the previous Magog nations will attempt to come against Jerusalem and the Nation of Israel, which is the "beloved city".
  4. Just like the Antichrist and False Prophet, Lucifer is thrown into the Lake of Fire for eternity.  There is no appearance for Lucifer at the Great White Thrown of Judgment.

There are two primary questions asked often by Christians concerning 

  1. Why would Jesus Christ release Lucifer at the end of the Millennial Kingdom, and what is the point of having 1,000 years of peace in the world to have it ruined?
  2. What and where were the Fallen Angels and Demons doing during the Millennial Kingdom?

The answer, in a general summary by many Biblical Commentaries, is looking at the different Dispensational Periods of the Earth and how Jesus Christ has always been the answer, solution, reason, gift, and with Him that all human-beings can have life, love, peace, joy and appreciation worship of our God as read in many scriptural passages such as John 10:7-15. 

During the Millennial Kingdom and after the Millennial Kingdom when Lucifer is released from prison in lower Sheol:

  • Lucifer is in lower Sheol in prison, chained there.
  • There will be no unseen Satanic Fallen Angels and Demons influencing human-beings, as the Satanic world will be 100% constrained.
  • There will be enforced peace between the nations by Jesus Christ with mandatory observance of specific Feasts and attendance in Jerusalem for Temple worship of Jesus Christ.
  • Humans will know Jesus Christ as the King, but since the New Heaven and New Earth has not been established, where all humans have glorified bodies that do not have the sin nature from the Adam and Eve fall at the Garden of Eden, then the Millennial Kingdom is the final proof that human beings absolutely cannot govern themselves without the love of God and God's 100% involvement in the lives of everyone.
  • The releasing of Lucifer from prison in lower Sheol to deceive all humans that he is able, is the final proof of rebelling against God, destroys everything that is good, Holy, peaceful, joyful and rewarding so that in eternity future then it will not ever be contemplated:
    (a) as God righteously let all of the permutations of evil be taken to the fateful conclusion of despair and suffering, while God still protected and rewarded all of those who chose God.   
    (b) all the evil that has happened and will happen before eternity, started with Lucifer's thought in Isaiah 14:13.
  • After the final Gog and Magog event that orchestrated from Lucifer's release from Prison the fulfillment of God's purpose for all history (shown above).
John 10:7-15 7 Jesus therefore said unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All that came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and go out, and shall find pasture. 10 The thief cometh not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy: I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly. 11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd layeth down his life for the sheep. 12 He that is a hireling, and not a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, beholdeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth, and the wolf snatcheth them, and scattereth them: 13 he fleeth because he is a hireling, and careth not for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd; and I know mine own, and mine own know me, 15 even as the Father knoweth me, and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.

When Eternity begins after the 1000 year Millennial Kingdom, this author has the following belief, where the second one I have not seen in any Biblical Commentary.

  1. Our memories of Lucifer, all Fallen Angels, all Demons, and all human beings without Salvation will be removed as a gift from God according to Revelation 21:4 and Isaiah 65:17, which is discussed in the topic on the Lake of Fire.  This removes all hope from those in the Lake of Fire and also any pain in us when we think of someone in the Lake of Fire.
  2. One of the greatest and more complete gifts that will be in the future is summarized in 1 Corinthians 15:28, where everyone in Heaven with God will have an absolute love and joy for God and one another in Heaven.  The removal of our sin nature makes it absolutely impossible to do anything to even in the tiniest of ways to do anything wrong as we will feel everyone's emotions of joy, love and so much more.  We will be in indescribable love with God as God is sharing His love for us to feel which will be the greatest part of Eternity.
1 Corinthians 15:28 When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things in subjection under him, that God may be all in all.

We are Destined through Jesus Christ

This is an excerpt from the Worship topic:

We are created for fellowship with God.  We are destined to share love, value as a person, and a belonging with and towards God.  Because of God, we in Eternity will also will be able to share love and fellowship with one another as God intended with Him in Eternity. 

God's act of creating us for fellowship with Him, means that He loves us, and He wants all of us to be a companion for eternity.  When we are Born-Again, we are changed from our fallen state from the separation caused by Adam and Eve, to the 100% absolute marking by the Holy Spirit to be in fellowship with Him for eternity.

If we were not created as eternal beings then we cannot be in fellowship with God as God is Eternal.  We are called by God to chose Him so that we can be with Him in Eternity, that involves us having the choice where the alternative is to be separated from Him for eternity.

  1. Worship is love in thought and action, where God is the recipient. 
  2. God always gives us His love in return even when we don't feel it in our earthly lives.
  3. God gave His Love First so that we could be Born-Again by accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior in our heart and mind. 
  4. In Eternity, worship will be the greatest pleasure that we will enjoy with God.
John 3:5-7

 5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
