The Sin of Mankind

The sin nature of all human beings is inherited from Adam and Eve because of the judgment from God after eating the Forbidden Fruit in the Garden of Eden

The following is a partial excerpt from the topic:

Adam and Eve committed three primary sins when eating the Forbidden Fruit:

  1. They listened to Lucifer, who was speaking through the possession of the serpent, and heard the full deception.  At the moment that Lucifer started to speak words against God's Character, then Adam and Eve should have stopped listening and walked away.
  2. Eve acted on the deception where Adam, who was not deceived, joined her in her fate because Adam loved her, which is a model type of what Jesus Christ did for us by entering this world and taking on the payment for sins of everyone.  Adam still sinned by disobeying God's commandment not to eat the Forbidden Fruit!
1 Timothy 2:14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner
    (a) Some Biblical Scholars believe at the moment that Eve took a bite into the Forbidden Fruit then her covering of light disappeared and Adam would have seen this change.
    (b) Adam had to have known there was at least one immediate consequence, when the covering light was gone on Eve.  When Adam took the bite then his covering of Light was gone also, which is why Genesis 3:6-7 informs us that "they both realized they were naked".
Genesis 3:6-7 6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.
  3. The third sin was believing that God was withholding knowledge and not giving His Perfect Best to Adam and Eve.  Adam and Eve did not reject God but believed less of God, which is a very evil sin.  For more on this point #3, see a fuller explanation in the Adam and Eve topic on "Additional Sin".

The Sin of the Fallen Angels

The Following in an excerpt from the Lucifer Fell topic.

We know from scripture that Lucifer had thoughts that he would be equal to God as indicated in the scriptures.  Here are two groups of passages that we learn about Lucifer plan and how God brought him down.

In Ezekiel 28:11-19, which is at first dealing with the King of Tyre proceeds to move onto Lucifer.  Lucifer was the power behind the King of Tyre, which is why God had the scriptures shown to start with the King and then move to Lucifer.

Note that one of the many proofs of the scriptures is the patterns, double occurrences, idioms, encryptions and so much more.

Ezekiel 28:11-19 11 The word of the Lord came to me: 12 “Son of man, take up a lament concerning the king of Tyre and say to him: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “‘You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. 13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: carnelian, chrysolite and emerald, topaz, onyx and jasper, lapis lazuli, turquoise and beryl. Your settings and mountings were made of gold; on the day you were created they were prepared. 14 You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you. You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery stones. 15 You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you. 16 Through your widespread trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones. 17 Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings. 18 By your many sins and dishonest trade you have desecrated your sanctuaries. So I made a fire come out from you, and it consumed you, and I reduced you to ashes on the ground in the sight of all who were watching. 19 All the nations who knew you are appalled at you; you have come to a horrible end and will be no more.’

In Isaiah 14:3-23, which is at first dealing the king of Babylon and then turns to Lucifer.  Lucifer was the power behind the King of Babylon.

Isaiah 14:3-23 3 On the day the Lord gives you relief from your suffering and turmoil and from the harsh labor forced on you, 4 you will take up this taunt against the king of Babylon: How the oppressor has come to an end! How his fury has ended! 5 The Lord has broken the rod of the wicked, the scepter of the rulers, 6 which in anger struck down peoples with unceasing blows, and in fury subdued nations with relentless aggression. 7 All the lands are at rest and at peace; they break into singing. 8 Even the junipers and the cedars of Lebanon gloat over you and say, “Now that you have been laid low, no one comes to cut us down.” 9 The realm of the dead below is all astir to meet you at your coming; it rouses the spirits of the departed to greet you— all those who were leaders in the world; it makes them rise from their thrones— all those who were kings over the nations. 10 They will all respond, they will say to you, “You also have become weak, as we are; you have become like us.” 11 All your pomp has been brought down to the grave, along with the noise of your harps; maggots are spread out beneath you and worms cover you. 12 How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! 13 You said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. 14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” 15 But you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit. 16 Those who see you stare at you, they ponder your fate: “Is this the man who shook the earth and made kingdoms tremble, 17 the man who made the world a wilderness, who overthrew its cities and would not let his captives go home?” 18 All the kings of the nations lie in state, each in his own tomb. 19 But you are cast out of your tomb like a rejected branch; you are covered with the slain, with those pierced by the sword, those who descend to the stones of the pit. Like a corpse trampled underfoot, 20 you will not join them in burial, for you have destroyed your land and killed your people. Let the offspring of the wicked never be mentioned again. 21 Prepare a place to slaughter his children for the sins of their ancestors; they are not to rise to inherit the land and cover the earth with their cities. 22 “I will rise up against them,” declares the Lord Almighty. “I will wipe out Babylon’s name and survivors, her offspring and descendants,” declares the Lord. 23 “I will turn her into a place for owls and into swampland; I will sweep her with the broom of destruction,” declares the Lord Almighty.

Because of Lucifer's rebellion, there was not only consequences on Earth but there appear to be also aspects in Heaven that were tainted, that God had to be cleansed as Hebrews 9:23 informs us.  We additionally know that God will create a new Heaven in Revelation 21:1-2.

The question sometimes asked is God making a better version of Heaven or is it because Lucifer and other Fallen Angels were once there?  The answer from other scriptures is God is not going to allow everyone destined for the Lake of Fire to see the new Heavens and new Earth, as the Great White Thrown of Judgment is before the revealing of the new Heavens and New Earth.  We also know from John 14:3, that Jesus Christ said He was going to prepare a place for us which will be part of the new Heavens.

Hebrews 9:23 23 It was necessary therefore that the copies of the things in the heavens should be cleansed with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 24 For Christ entered not into a holy place made with hands, like in pattern to the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear before the face of God for us:
Revelation 21:1-2 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. 2 And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
Revelation 21:5 And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” ...
John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.

Lucifer and the Fallen Angels tried to supplant God.  Lucifer was trying to make himself equal with God.  This was absolute treachery and rebellion against God who is the Creator of Lucifer and all Angels.  Lucifer has done different types of deceptions with the Fallen Angels and then Adam and Eve.

  1. Lucifer deceived one third of the Angels who had a direct relationship with God in Eternity that Lucifer could be like God and the Fallen Angels would be better off with Lucifer.
  2. Lucifer tried a different type of deception with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.  Note that Adam was not deceived but loved Eve so much that he joined her in the fate that was not known yet.  By Adam doing what he did, was a foreshadowing of what Jesus Christ has done for us as Jesus Christ became sin for us so that we could have Salvation.

The Difference Between Lucifer and Adam / Eve

In a very high-level summary statement, the difference between what Adam and Eve did and what Lucifer with the Fallen Angels did:

  1. Adam and Eve, which gave consequences of a sin nature to all of their descendants, sinned against God in three ways but there was never an attempt to go to war against God or supplant God.
    (a) They listened to Lucifer and should have stopped listening and walked away at the moment of lies were told about God.  Adam held the role of head of their relationship and did not stop the incident of listening to Lucifer from continuing.
    (b) Eve acted on the deception and Adam knew it was a deception but joined Eve because of his great love for Eve.  Both Adam and Eve made a covering of leaves because they realized they were naked which Biblical Scholars believe that both Adam and Eve were covered in a Light from God before sinning.  The covering disappeared when eating the Forbidden Fruit from the Forbidden Tree  Since Eve ate first, then Adam would have seen the change first before it happened to him.  The scripture indicates Adam loved Eve so much that he joined her in eating the Forbidden Fruit.  This action is also a model of Jesus Christ coming into His Creation to take our place in destined from separation from God by making the restitution payment on the Cross.  Note that Biblical Scholars and this author state that even though Adam was not deceived, it by no means exonerates Adam, where the point of  the scriptural references shown is Adam was modeling his love just like Jesus Christ loves.
    (c) Eve believed God was withholding knowledge and not giving His Perfect Best.
Genesis 3:13 Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
Genesis 3:17 To Adam He said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’
1 Timothy 2:14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner

  2. Lucifer and the other Fallen Angels went to war against God and Lucifer lost as read in Revelation 12:7-9.  Lucifer's goal was to be like God.
Isaiah 14:13 I will make myself like the Most High.
Revelation 12:7-9 7 Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back, 8 but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

God still loved Adam and Eve, where there was consequences for their actions that resulted in many penalties that are outlined in Genesis 3, but there is the beautiful message in understanding Genesis 3:8-11 where God is described as a loving Father giving His children the chance to confess and speak to them with love.  God is asking a question that He already knew the answer so that Adam and Eve could more fully realize what has been done.

Genesis 3:6-7
Adam and Eve covered in light before.
6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.
Genesis 3:11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

God also proves His love for them by:

  1. Not striking them down in a form of capital punishment.
  2. Still providing for them and their lives along with their descendants.   Example scriptures are Matthew 6:25-34 and Luke 12:22-32.
  3. By God giving them the coats of skin, some Biblical Scholars state that animal skins had a teaching purpose for Adam and Eve, along with us, where it was not simply replacing the "fig leaves".  This was teaching them the requirements that by the shedding of blood there was a covering for sins.  The covering of animal skin, which required the death of an animal, was a temporary action that points to the redeemer, Jesus Christ whose death was a permanent payment for sins, that allows us to receive Salvation.
Hebrews 9:22 Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.
Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace
Hebrews 9:14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!

The following is an excerpt from the Purpose of all History topic:

When Eternity begins after the 1000 year Millennial Kingdom, this author has the following belief, where the second one I have not seen in any Biblical Commentary.

  1. Our memories of Lucifer, all Fallen Angels, all Demons, and all human beings without Salvation will be removed as a gift from God according to Revelation 21:4 and Isaiah 65:17, which is discussed in the topic on the Lake of Fire.  This removes all hope from those in the Lake of Fire and also any pain in us when we think of someone in the Lake of Fire.
  2. One of the greatest and more complete gifts that will be in the future is summarized in 1 Corinthians 15:28, where everyone in Heaven with God will have an absolute love and joy for God and one another in Heaven.  The removal of our sin nature makes it absolutely impossible to do anything to even in the tiniest of ways to do anything wrong as we will feel everyone's emotions of joy, love and so much more.  We will be in indescribable love with God as God is sharing His love for us to feel which will be the greatest part of Eternity.
1 Corinthians 15:28 When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things in subjection under him, that God may be all in all.

Forbidden Tree, Why was it There?

The Forbidden Tree in the Garden of Eden is sometimes asked by Christians on why it was there with the connotation that God should have removed it which is wrong as God does not create evil.  The purpose of mentioning the Forbidden Tree in this topic is because it evidence that it was there because of something Lucifer had done and Lucifer was trying to get Adam and Eve to eat the Forbidden Fruit.

We know from all of the entirety of the scriptures, that God is dealing with Lucifer, the Fallen Angels and human-beings in a process that gives Glory to God by:

This is two excerpts from the Forbidden Tree topic:

Part 1

Regarding this forbidden tree, the tree was apparently visible, and in the Garden, where we are not given a reason why it is there.

This author believes it has two possibilities:

  1. It was a tree that Lucifer tainted or changed from its original purpose that therefore was associated with Lucifer , or
  2. More likely, Lucifer purposely manipulated the tree to be a counterfeit against the Tree of Life, with immediate consequences for consuming along with disobeying God's command not to eat it.  Counterfeiting God and the Works of God has been Lucifer's pattern.  At the end-times of the Tribulation Period, Lucifer sets up a false trinity with:
    (a) The False Prophet in the role of the Holy Spirit,
    (b) The Antichrist in the role of Jesus Christ, and
    (c) himself in the role of God the Father,
which of course has no power other than deception.  See Isaiah 14:14, "I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.", which is the thoughts of Lucifer that describe the desire to be like the Most High.

Part 2

It is the opinion of many Biblical Scholars that God did not initially remove Lucifer from the Garden of Eden along with anything done by Lucifer so that God can show His Angels the far-ranging consequences of rebellion.  This highly probable theory is overwhelmingly confirmed by the whole of scripture where here are two points that are relating to the Garden of Eden:

  • God setting Cherubim (plural of Cherub) to guard the way to the Tree of Life to prevent Adam, Eve, Lucifer and other Fallen Angels from having access to the Tree of Life after the sin of Adam and Eve as read in Genesis 3:22-24.  Regarding the guarding of the Tree of Life, an ordinary Angel could have kept Adam and Eve out but it required Cherubim, to prevent Fallen Angels and Lucifer from gaining access to the Fruit on the Tree of Life.  Note that the Tree of Life would have given Adam and Eve immortality in a sinful state.
Genesis 3:22-24 22 And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” 23 So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. 24 After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.
  • In Genesis 1:2, the Scripture informs us that the earth was formless and void.  God does not create anything without purpose, beauty and to righteously honor Himself.  In Genesis 1:2, we also learn that God began a creation process.  Biblical Scholars have a few theories, that are often collectively known as the Gap Theory of Genesis 1:2, to explain why the earth was void.  The general summary is Lucifer had his rebellion which then caused the earth to be formless and void.  God left it in this state for many reasons which include showing that Lucifer is in capable of doing anything about it.  The earth could have been in this state for billions of years.
Genesis 1:1-2 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

Why Did God Allow the Sin to Happen?

God exists in Eternity, where God created the Dimensions, Time Domains and Kingdom of God.  The scriptures allude to and give enough information to understand that God exists everywhere.

Psalm 139:7-12 7 Whither shall I go from thy Spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence? 8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there:
If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, thou art there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; 10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, And thy right hand shall hold me. 11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall overwhelm me, And the light about me shall be night; 12 Even the darkness hideth not from thee, But the night shineth as the day: The darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

This author's theory, not seen in any Biblical Commentary, is Lucifer risked everything not thinking there would be a consequence as explained in the Lucifer topic section: "Why did Lucifer, Described as the Dragon, Risk Everything?"  The Fallen Angels had to have believed the same as Lucifer.

Many of us have asked the following two questions:

  1. Why did God allow the Forbidden Tree to remain in the Garden of Eden?
  2. Why did God allow Lucifer to possess the Serpent and trick Adam and Eve?

Biblical Scholars have stated:

  1. God first knew of the thoughts of Lucifer when Lucifer (described in the topic above) had the desire and goal to be "like God Almighty", and rebel with as many Angels that became the Fallen Angels against God.
  2. God knew also when Lucifer would do the same type of deception with Adam and Eve before it happened.

All of the goals of Lucifer against God:
