There are many books, movies, TV shows and folk lore stories that attribute people and places as being Magical.  The definition of Magic by many sources defines Magic as:

• Using charms, amulets, repetitive words, spells that are believed to have supernatural power over the natural forces in the world.
• Using rites and/or incantations to cause an event, a change in a person's ability to think or something to physically change its structure or appearance.

Powers in the World

The Christian is forbidden in participating in anything that involves the Satanic Realm.  Trying to use or create magic, always involves the Satanic Realm. 

When anyone tries to use or create:

1. Something magical,
2. Involve Spirit Mediums,
3. Use Fortune Tellers, Psychics, Sorcerers, Witch/Warlocks,
4. Conduct a Séance
5. Speak any type of incantation,
6. Use a so-called magical recipe,
7. Putting reverence or believing in power contained in crystals, holy water, man-made shrines, or
8. Any form of Necromancy

then this is a severe offense against God.  Trying any of the listed eight items, will always open a harmful Satanic door into the lives of those who are not protected by the Holy Spirit.  One potentiality can lead to Possession.  A great source for understanding some of the aspects of this Satanic Trickery is reading Johanna Michaelsen's book "The Beautiful Side of Evil". 

We should always have thankfulness, love and give glory to God for the signs and wonders in our lives that originate from God.  When anyone is not speaking a request in Jesus Christ's Name, then this will involve the Satanic Realm.  When power is coming from the Satanic Realm it is not a neutral and benevolent involvement, which will have negative consequences.

Many people, are very mistaken about the power with limitations that the Satanic Realm does possess.  Consider Pharaoh's magicians had their staffs turn into snakes which was not a form of trickery with sleight of hand movements. 

1. To have Aaron's staff become a snake to overcome and swallow (destroy) the Egyptian magician's snakes.  Notice in verse 12 that the scripture points out that they were "staffs" so that we would know they were the staffs that turned into snakes.  Also, the type of snake was not identified as pythons, rattlesnakes, cobras or a King Snake so that we do not think all snakes are bad.  (King Snakes eat other snakes by swallowing another snake for food) 
2. To have Aaron's staff change back into a staff as Aaron uses his staff throughout the rest of his life and Aaron's staff is later put into the Ark of the Covenant as read in Numbers 17:10
3. In Numbers 17:8 to have Aaron's staff  "spouted ... budded, blossomed and produced ripe almonds." that is impossible without God and showed life was in a piece of wood separated long ago from the original almond tree.

There are two points to consider on anything that is a miracle:

1. The Believer, in the Old and New Testament, who asks/performs a miracle, is by God's instruction and through prayer to God.
2. Everyone else, who thinks there is magic, are trying to summon powers with commands through their own perceived and deceived beliefs where they do not understand the power (if performed) is from the Satanic Spiritual Realm.

The Scriptures inform us of many other examples of the power in the Satanic Realm which influences the earthly emissaries.  The scriptures have identified this as the Powers of the Air.  The powers are not metaphorically terms but describing the spiritual realm which are in a different dimension that the scriptures describe as part of the 3rd Heaven

There are many, many more Scriptural references against the use of anything that masquerades as magic, is always coming from the Satanic Realm.  See Leviticus 20:6, Leviticus 19:31 and Deuteronomy 18:10-13 as a few examples of commands from God for the Believer to not traffic in.

Does Magic Exist?

Many Christians think that a miracle is magic and that is not true.  The Christian needs to understand that:

1. There is no such thing as magic.
2. God does not use magic.
3. God is not magical.
4. A Christian Religious Object and any perceived Religious Object is not magical.
5. Christian historic Churches, Paintings, Objects can be held in high regard and reverence but they are only man-made objects that are not magical.

Many Christians, mistakenly and most likely without proper knowledge of it being wrong, often worship Religious Objects.  There are many reasons why we do not have a detailed image of what God the Father and Jesus Christ look like.  In the Ten Commandments, the first two Commandments deal with false gods and idols.  If we make anything and worship it, then it is wrong. 

There are many cases when a person is healed from a sickness, monetary support or receives an answer to a prayer after:

• Going to Church,
• Being prayed over by a group,
• Being anointed with oil and water,
• Taking a pilgrimage to honor God, or
• Anything that the person looks to God for help

all of which point to the direction of the healing, gifts and answers resulting from the person's faith and looking towards God.

Consider the Bronze Serpent that Moses made that was meant for a healing of snake bite by someone who looked upon it.  The people, who were bitten and healed still required faith that in God that they were healed by their action.  The Bronze Serpent was an image that had special significance as it is a model (John 3:14) which pointed to the future sacrifice of Jesus Christ that we must accept for our Salvation.  This Bronze Serpent had to be destroyed later because Israel started worshipping it and that was wrong.  Consider our modern day pictures of Jesus Christ which taken out of context of the purpose of pointing to our Savior is wrong.

Outside of Our Time Domain

While we in our sinful and fallen state may think that miracles are being done by Magic, but that is never the case.  God exists outside of our time domain and outside of our Universe where He created everything that is seen and not seen.  If God desired to have an Angel appear in front of us or have an Angel deflect a bullet in time of war then it is not magical.

God directly will do many, many things that are beyond our ability to comprehend when it comes to miracles.  It is not our purpose to understand the process on how God does any miracles. 

God, through His prophets and appointed representatives will use signs, wonders, healings and so much more with the purpose of:

• His pleasure
• To verify His Presence and His Word
• To stop evil
• To convict and change hearts so that they will recognize Jesus Christ as their Savior.

Warnings from God

The Christian is warned against doing anything that can put themselves into the subjection, proximity and power of Satanic Forces.  The list of eight items at the start of this topic are known as gate-ways into the occult.  All of these types of uses and actions by anyone puts them directly into consulting the Satanic Spiritual Realm where there is always an evil presence that will try to influence and speak to those who are participating.  The end result is always designed:

1. For the destruction of a person in their earthly life.
2. Prevention from recognizing and asking Jesus Christ as a Savior
3. For the loss of rewards in eternity for the Christian.

There is an old saying used by Christians that is not heard too much anymore that states "Satan always burns his heroes".  The Satanic realm uses short term gains to trick and put into subjection.  An example in the scriptures is King Saul, who in the end consults a Spirit Medium in 1 Samuel 28 and then commits suicide at the end of a battle where King Saul felt forsaken.

Payment for All Sins

If you have ever participated in any of the eight areas listed at the start of this topic, then you need to know that God still loves you, desires for you to trust Him only and know that Jesus Christ made a payment for every sin committed by mankind.  If you have not asked Jesus Christ to be your Savior, then do it now and confess your mistakes in life where you can move on in love, service, guidance, peace and rewards in eternity through the only source of peace and happiness that is our God!
