The Ten Commandments

In Exodus 20:1-17 and also in Deuteronomy 5:7-21, the list of Ten Commandments are:

Exodus 20 Verse:	Commandment
Verse 1-2		1 And God spoke all these words, saying, 2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery."
3	1	“You shall have no other gods before me."
4-6	2	4 You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 5 You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments
7	3	“You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain."
8 - 11	4	8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made heaven* and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy."
12	5	“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you."
13	6	“You shall not murder."
14	7	“You shall not commit adultery."
15	8	“You shall not steal."
16	9	“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor."
17	10	“You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's.”

* Heaven here is the Hebrew word "hassamayim" which means the universe.

Are there Related Commandments?

Yes, there are several commandments which are related to one another.

The First and Second are related to one another. We are not to worship false gods and make images of what we would perceive is the real God or any false god to worship. Jesus Christ, when He was on the earth, did not set up images of Himself or even God the Father. Additionally, in the entirety of the scriptures, there was never any images or statues set up to have worship directed towards because that would have people's attention going to the wrong place.
The Third, Fourth and Fifth are related to one another. We are to be ambassadors of God and act accordingly.
The Sixth commandment is paired up with the Eighth commandment. Committing murder is a form of stealing the future of everything that the murdered person would have created, experienced, given and all actions to honor God and benefit God's purposes.
The Seventh commandment is paired up with each of the Eighth, Ninth, Fifth and Tenth commandments. When a person commits adultery, they are:
(a) Stealing sexual intimacy and time.
(b) Slandering (false witness) both of the adulterers victim's spouses.
(c) Dishonoring their parents, even if the parents have already passed away.

Are We Under the Laws of the Old Testament?

Paul explains the law to us, in the book of Romans, was established to make us aware of our sins and more than that. We learn that Paul is also telling us that the law was set so that we would sin more. This seems like an oxymoron comment but mankind's sinful nature makes us curious and desirous to explore opportunities to sin without the Holy Spirit's influence. By all of mankind's sins, then the purpose of the law makes the abundance of God's GRACE more clear as a necessary gift from God along the paramount need of a Savior!

Romans 3:20	because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight; for through the law cometh the knowledge of sin.
Romans 5:20-21	20 And the law came in besides, that the trespass might abound; but where sin abounded, grace did abound more exceedingly: 21 that, as sin reigned in death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 7:13	Did then that which is good become death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might be shown to be sin, by working death to me through that which is good;—that through the commandment sin might become exceeding sinful

Many Christian Speakers and Christians like to state that we are no longer under the law because of Galatians 3:25 without reading the full intent of the scriptural message and other scriptures. Notice sin as a tutor and the use of Grace in the references listed:

Galatians 3:24-28

24 Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith. 25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. 26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus 27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Romans 6:14

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under law, but under grace.

The gift of the Holy Spirit, which started at Pentecost, made every Christian that accepts Jesus Christ as their Savior a new Creature (Son of God) where our goal it to be conformed to the behavior and likeness of Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit's help. While we are not following the 613 laws of the Old Testament, we are following the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

1 John 4:13	By this we know that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.
Acts 5:32	"And we are witnesses of these things; and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him."

We are now under a new law?

Figuratively speaking, many Biblical Scholars point out that we are now under a new law called "The Law of the Holy Spirit" where we are to follow the guidance provided by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Notice the part that is highlighted in yellow on Acts 5:32, which means God still expects us to obey Him.
