The Book of Jasher, of
The Book of Jashar
Book of Jashar
There are two references to it in the Old Testament.
Joshua 10:13 "So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, until the nation avenged themselves of their enemies. Is it not written in the book of Jshar? And the sun stopped in the middle of the sky, did not hasten to go down for a about a whole day."
2 Samuel 1:18 "and he told them to teach the sons of Judah the song of the bow; behold, it is written in the book of Jashar".
The meaning of the word "Jasher" is "Upright" or "Correct Record". It should be more properly read as "The Book of the Upright" or "The Book of the Correct Record". In recent centuries, it was thought that Jasher was a proper name for the author. In Hebrew the pronoun 'the' (Hebrew 'ha') does not ever proceed the proper names.
The contents of "The Book of the Correct Record" contains most of the scriptures written in the Tanakh, the Books written by Moses. It is not completely the same and the "The Book of Jasher" is not consider Inspired.

Promise Land before invasion Book
In Joshua 18:9 there is a reference to a Book which we do not have. "So the men went and passed through the land, and described it by the cities in seven divisions in a book; and they came to Joshua to the camp at Shiloh."
