The Key

The first step in our walk with God is accepting in Faith the Death on the Cross by Jesus Christ for our Salvation.  The Key to our successful Christian life is walking in Faith.

Proverbs 3:5-6 5 Trust in Jehovah with all thy heart, And lean not upon thine own understanding: 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he will direct thy paths. heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Hebrews 11:6 and without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing unto him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that seek after him.
2 Corinthians 5:7 For we live by faith, not by sight.

The Walk that Rewards Us All

Read this Scriptural Verse and notice the points that are highlighted.  This is similar to Proverbs 3:5-6, where God is reinforcing the necessity for us all to live our lives emulating the worthiness of our calling so that God can bless us all!

2 Chronicles 7:14 14 if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

The key to a successful and pleasing life in the eyes of God is found in many, many scriptures.  Notice in 2 Chronicles 7:14 that if we do four things:

Then God will do three things:

Promises by God

The whole Bible is full of promises by God to His people called by Him.

Joshua 1:8 "This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but shall meditate on it day and night, so that you be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you wall make your way prosperous, and then you will have success"
Joshua 14:11 (Joshua speaking at 85 years old is speaking) I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I'm just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then.

Old Testament Relevant for All?

Many Christians have said the Old Testament Scriptures do not apply to the Christian because we live under a different dispensation of Grace, or the Old Testament only dealt with Israel.  Both of these two beliefs are not true for the following reasons:

  1. The Old Testament has prophecies that point to the Messiah, Jesus Christ, through the feast days, laws and of course the prophecies.
  2. The Old Testament has a wealth of information of learning more and more about God and His attributes.
  3. The Old Testament gives us information on how to handle our lives through the guidance seen in God and the scriptures such as Proverbs.
  4. The Old Testament deals with the Nation Israel which has many prophecies that are still to be fulfilled in the Tribulation Period and also during the 1,000 Millennial Kingdom of Jesus Christ.
  5. Our God changes not so we should be desirous to learn all about Him which includes how He handled Israel in the Old Testament.
Malachi 3:6  4 Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto Jehovah, as in the days of old, and as in ancient years. 5 And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against the false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the sojourner from his right, and fear not me, saith Jehovah of hosts. 6 For I, Jehovah, change not; therefore ye, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed.

Admonition

Note that in our current times, we have many Christians who (a) boast, (b) act arrogantly, (c) are pretentious and (d) ostentatious which gives a very negative representation to the world who needs Jesus Christ.

We all need to very careful that we are not acting (1) in pride, (2) in self-sufficiency without the need for God (3) and not being ambassadors for our King and God.  This is the purpose of the 3rd Commandment.

What is Salvation?  Is it is possible to lose Salvation?  We have eternal life Evolution is not real.  When a Christian suffers is there benefits from it.  Rewards in heaven.  Do we Tithe?  What does the 3rd Commandment tell us?  What is Grace and Mercy?  Is there an Age of Accountability?  Is there a place of unending punishment and exile form God?
