God does not change His mind

There is an inexhaustible list of God's Attributes.  Consider these in relation to "God does not change":

If God were to change His mind, then this would prove that He doesn't know the end from the beginning because His thoughts were not perfect to know the best choices at all moments and circumstances.  Obviously, God is Perfect and beyond our ability to comprehend His thoughts and the Scripture are often mistranslated, misunderstood or using figures of speech that have lost their meaning to other languages and generations.  Now consider a few Scriptural References that state that God Changes not:

Psalm 102:27 But You are the same, And Your years will not come to an end.
Malachi 3:6  For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
Hebrews 13;8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, neither shadow that is cast by turning.
Deuteronomy 32:4 The Rock, his work is perfect; For all his ways are justice: A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, Just and right is he.

In some passages, God is shown to regret and feel sorrow but this shows that God is a God of Love.  From our earthly point of view, we are not capable of understanding the implications of choices, which God is letting transpire to teach us.  Many have asked why God does not stop suffering in the world.

This does not mean that

  1. God made a mistake,
  2. Is at fault for not stopping suffering, and
  3. God is not Perfect as He gave us, Lucifer and the Angels the ability to make choices.

Read the topic on suffering to understand more about God giving us freedom of choice and showing us the far-reaching consequences of sin so that it can be eliminated as the Book of Revelation informs us when the New Heavens and New Earth are created.

Two examples of God grieving and regretting.

Genesis 6:6  And the LORD was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart.
1 Samuel 15:10-11 The word of the Lord came to Samuel: “I regret that I have made Saul king, for he has turned back from following me and has not performed my commandments.”
