SQL Server Automated Synchronization (SSAS)

This tool was first designed and implemented with the Truck/Equipment Inspection System in 2006 to work with SQL Server Express 2005 and SQL Server Standard Edition 2005.  Since its inception, it has been upgraded several times to work with multiple versions of SQL Server.

The tool works as a middleware which simply moves data between databases on separate Servers and/or Workstations based on the two tables having identical structures with extra management fields at the end of each record.  Use of the system is very simple as the tool will automatically detect and build synchronization for the fields it sees as long the fields exist in both places.  There is no recoding of the system if new fields are added or other fields are deleted as the tool can be calibrated to add and/or delete new fields when the synchronization happens.  The only mandatory requirement is the extra fields at the end of a record and not using Identity fields as keys.

If the Server(s) and/or Workstation(s) are not reachable through the Internal or External connections, the Sync does not fail but simply notes the connection problem in its application log files.  Failed synchronizations will resume where the last failure happened so data never lost.  If repeated failures occur without success then the data still resides at the source where resolution can be directed through your business management processes.

Features: 1 Push data from the Client Workstation or Server to the main repository or centralized Database Server.
2 Pull data from the main repository or centralized Database Server to the Client Workstation or another Server.
3 SQL Server Command executed at the Client enabling the creation, modification and removal of tables and data fields.
4 Title and all (Detail features below) are controlled from an XML configuration file.
5 Run on Demand, call from a program or as a Scheduled Task.  Next release run as a Service.
